Here is my MK1 1991 Citroen AX 10E 1.0 Carb
Approx 37000 miles
I really like this car and have always wanted one,I bought this last November. However I'm a Japanese car fan at heart and I am missing them badly.
Also it is my only car so I am driving it every day (which it does very well) but this classic really needs to be a weekend car cherished in a garage. I cant offer it that life at the moment.
It is a Citroen AX MK1 10E so very rare now, and in good condition. It looks 99% mint in the pictures but in the flesh probably best to describe as very good which is probably better than 90% of all AX's out there.
It runs well although its "fun" trying to get the choke bang on although it never fails to start even on the coldest of mornings. The joys of carbs
Engine :good no nasty rattles, new cambelt changed by me in the last few thousand miles. Doesnt over heat or use water.
Clutch :good. Bites well, never slips.
Gearbox : good. Sometimes notchy going into reverse.
Body :all jacking points/axle stand points extremely solid. Sills very good condition. Common rust behind headlights but has been welded in the past. Rear of one sill had a small patch welded. The boot is fairly solid although there are two small places where rust is starting.
Paint : There are a few places where rust may be starting such as the edge of the front wings but that is 100% surface rust. The rear arches are very good though. Would benefit from a buff but washes well. Would recommend touching up in places if you wanted it mint. I touched up a couple of places but I did it poorly.
Tyres : Michellin front, Kleber on the rear so both decent brands.
A little old but good tread with no uneven wear. I have lost one of the wheeltrims but I still have the other 3.
Brakes : People say ax brakes are poor. I think this cars brakes are brilliant can easilly lock the wheels up for an emergency stop etc if needed. Do slightly judder at high speed under light braking.
Steering : Good direct feel with no play.
Mot : November 2016
Someone decided to break the rear window out of spite on boxing day night. The quickest fix was to put a mk2 boot in its place and I still havent got around to swapping the original bootlid back on, it will however be included in the sale.
All in all a good honest rare car. Super lightweight (640kg if you go by figures on the net) and good runner. Could be minted very easily and probably one of the better shells left out there !
The car is still taxed and insured but I may cancel those after this weekend as I hope to get a new car.
The pictures of the car with the red boot / no wheel trims are the most recent ( taken at the weekend )
Any questions please ask away. I would be interested in a swap or p/ex for a 90s Honda Civic , crx , integra or cr-v. I don't want any other cars, I have decided Honda all the way so please don't ask about other cars thanks.
£595 on offer.
