BMW E34 520i 24v (150hp)
112000 miles
MOT til September 2016
For sale is my 1993 BMW 520i 24v manual, finished in Silver with grey/black interior.
I bought the car off a friend that hadn't used it in a few months, and had lost interest in it. Shortly after purchase, I briefly serviced it with plugs, oil and filter (receipts to prove). I also have a fuel filter, rocker cover gasket set, and new OEM front and rear BMW badges that I haven't got round to fitting, so these'll go to the new owner. I had another key cut as well which will of course also be supplied. It's got pretty much all it's MOT's and it's early service history.
Since purchasing the car in early February I've been using it on a daily basis, and have roughly racked up just shy of 3000 miles in it whilst averaging a little over 30mpg. My weekly work commute is around 280 miles, and I've been to Manchester and back several times as well. The car has been absolutely faultless across this period; the oil level has remained in the same place, it always rises to the middle of the temperature gauge and stays there even in heavy traffic, it'll happily sit at 80 for hours, starts first time regardless of how cold of a morning it is, heaters work well. I cannot stress enough how reliable the car's been.
There are a few rough area's on the car, as to be expected for it's age, and I've tried to show these area's in the photo's as best as I can.
- The drivers seat is worn rather badly.
- Rear passenger side door card needs replacing/repairing.
- There's a peculiar and reasonable sized dent in the sill that's been there since 2010 according to an old MOT.
- The paintwork would benefit from a t-cut and polish in areas, and has it's general parking dinks and scratches.
- Couple items from the toolkit missing.
It's incredibly solid compared to the state most of these are in, there is virtually no rust on the body of it, and it does clean up fairly well. Worth noting as well that it's still relatively low mileage for it's age.
My reason for selling is that going from small lightweight cars to this has lead me to discover that it's just not really my cup of tea. On top of that I'm also focused on another project that isn't going to allow me to give the E34 the TLC it needs anytime soon. With all that said, I do fear I'll regret letting it go, but needs must!
Located a little west of Reading. Happy to arrange viewing. £1000.
