Hi,
As per rules, I have PM'd 'rmad' my contact details as a new member.
Model: Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0 CDi Manual
Year: 1989
Mileage: 75,000
MOT: No
Location: Hoddesdon, Hertfoudshire (10mins from M25, J25)
Price: £450 ono
Contact details: Neil Turner - 07734562693 - (Text only before 17:00)
I bought this Cavalier in August last year as it was the model I had always wanted as a teenager. Now 7 months on, its still sitting in my barn, which I need to vacate in the next month, and I haven’t even touched it since.
I bought it locally from a lady whose Granadad owned the car from new. He stopped driving about 10 years previous and the car was left in his garage. Once he passed away they sold it to me.
The car has done 75k miles and was bought and serviced by Charvills of Ware local to where I live.
I have the owners folder and some paperwork, listed below.
MOTs:
August 1994 – 49,763miles
July 1997 – 66,313 miles
February 2000 - 72,807miles
March 2001 - 73,764miles
March 2002 - 74,611miles
Service history:
September 1991 - 22,282miles
August 1992 - 30,656miles
March 1995 - 53,472miles
Generally the car is in ‘ok’ condition. I will need at least 24hrs notice for viewing as I will need to trailer it back to my house from the barn.
The engine has not been run, and I would not like to just stick a battery on it try it due to standing so long. The electrics do work, even the headlamp wipers.
There is some rust on the sills and rear arches. It looks like it would get through as MOT as it is not too bad.
Inside there is evidence of some of dampness at some stage as it smells musty. Having said that, the previous owners assured me it has been garaged, and its been undercover since I have owned it.
Head lining is hanging down at the back. I have not attempted to repair as I would rather a potential enthusiast see it ‘as is’.
This car will need full decommissioning (tyres / brakes checked / new fluids etc) before being put back on the road, which I would have loved to do if I had more time and somewhere else to keep the car.
