I think ive sorted it. Making sure the ignition was 100% made a little difference. Then it started playing up again. Right about then, half the fuel shut off solenoid fell on the floor. Id already modified this to be permenantly open as the wire had broken, but the last parts of the body fell apart creating an air leak. Runs great again now

Van look great now it's all back together. The interior you are planning sounds a lot like the six wheeler Transit that was built in the late 70's early 80's. There ws a thread about it on the Transit forum a few years back as someone found it. It was called 3001 and was in Street Machine. I had a quick search and found this thread on Rod's and Sod's with lot's of info. www.rodsnsods.co.uk/forum/whatever-happened/3001-transit-50626

Sure. Anything particular you want pics of?
Its become obvious we need an awning as vans full of wet clothes are no fun.
I am also thinking of fitting either a propex gas heater or an eberspacher diesel heater.

I haven't had a wet trip away but I'm not sure what's worse a wet tent to pack away or wet clothes. Heating is definitely a good idea. I want to get a propex heater but they are a bit pricy, although does make it use able all year. Failing that if staying in a campsite with electric hook up can get a domestic oil heater for £20-30 and they are meant to be safe in a van. That'll probably be my stopgap until I can afford propex.
Would be good to see some interior pics
Cheers

Hanging sopping wet barbours and dog coats in the van with wet towels on the floor to catch the drips and watching the whole van fill with condensation is no fun!
Ill take some pics but its the same as yours but the tall cupboard has a normal door. I'm guessing yours has been changed for that roller door?

Haha fair play tent wins! And don't worry about pics thought you may of done something or be planning something interior wise to make it better. Heading up to tideswell, rented a cottage for a mates 30th so should be good fun. Love it up there

Interior will be redone but not for a couple of months.
Tideswell is my favourite place. Wife prefers buxton. Hopefully moving to one or the other next year.
Good thing about tideswell is its not at all touristy, that and all the rooks make it quite atmospheric.

Cracking work. Nearly bought a CF myself some years ago. But unfortunately it was total rotten! And definitely beyond help!

Same problem I have with my van is single glazed windows just suck all the heat out that my gas propex can create. I have a set of suction cup Thermo blankets to cover all the cab glass and some pads to block all the other windows at night which works well . I have the nozzle out of the propex pointed at the floor and it seems to do its best work once the floor is bone dry . I just hang wet stuff under the wind out awning and hope for the best .

I got an awning in the end and fitted a new leisure battery and a nice durite VSR split charge system with a new fuse box for camper stuff. Its nice being able to trust the electrics at last! I raised the front a little and refitted the old shocks as they were adjustable. My nice new shocks are too soft and made the van very bouncy. Having all sorts of brake issues. Front brakes kept unadjusting themselves so I re designed the adjusters but they also judder but only when braking from high speed. Feel great at low speed. Went away again last weekend too

Thanks. Enjoying driving it, it drives well. Enough power, easy to dive, handles well, comfortable. Just a bit noisy.
Got plenty of little niggles to sort before ill be happy but its getting there.
I want it to be as usable and trustable as a new van. I want to be able to drive it anywhere, anytime without any niggling concerns about what might break.

Front drums by the sounds? Take the shoes out and file a chamfer/lead in on the front edge of each shoe, it'll stop them grabbing. It could also be contaminated shoes or skimmed drums that are a bit too large for the shoe, but try the filing trick first.

It could also be contaminated shoes or skimmed drums that are a bit too large for the shoe, but try the filing trick first. That was my next idea too. Today I found the front wheel bearings had settled a little and had slight play. Removing that has reduced the judder a reasonable amount. I also found the servo is leaking vacuum yet again so that cant be helping. The modified adjusters are at least working correctly now. The brakes can/will be excellent but I van see why people get sick of them. There performance is either great or terrible, no inbetween, and it only takes the slightest issue to send them haywire.
