Hi, I had a look at Volvo Classic parts and they at least list the set of rings. It seems the part number for a kit for standard bore is 54490. You can at least get the page in English, and look at the catalogue even though it`s in Swedish. www.gcp.se/katalog/modell/pv/Hope that helps  |

Hi! Thanks for the help...! Yesterday i get the pistons.They are from EGGE/USA not from down under.... egge.com/Don't heard from them befor..... ::)I don't know if the pistons are good ones. We will see.... 8-)I had no choice.... The block with the pistons is already in the machining shop,maybe in the middle of next week i can get it. But look what i find on good old ebay!  The missing "444"! Greet |

Hi! The engine-block is back from the machining shop...  So i thought of get the engine together and have a blast at the weekend!But... The piston pin does not fit in the conrod  Made in USA.... :(And these nation have nuclear weapons......   So i order a reamer...hope to get it soon... In the meantime i put some things in the block like the crank  the rear housing of the sealing-felt  camshaft...  and the NOS "Made in Germany" timing gear..  The front cover with a new felt ring....  I don't want a conversion to new typ sealing rings....it has to stay old skool I only put some red paint to the oilpan....why i paint those covers red,too....  I don't know....must be drunk... Is the gudgeon pin an interference fit (heat con rod, freeze pin, assemble very quickly before they set)? I'm guessing a quick measure of the pin will tell if/how far it's out of spec?

Hi!
I have measured it :The hole in the conrod is 19mm and the pin is 19,05mm
With a reamer it is no problem i think.

Hi! Nearly done 900 miles with the "new" engine....soon time for oilchange and retorque the head. Was busy on the Volvo's underside with Liquid Fluid.It's one of the best to preserve old cars... Nice. Seems to run well then! Good for you.
Personally I liked your plate better between the bumper overriders though... And not because it was hiding the dents, but because it doesn't disturb the lines of the front as much. But hey, it's about what you like!
