I am probably pushing things by putting this here but I guess the wheels in question are now retro and the car is arguably a modern classic...
In a few days time I am getting my Turbine wheels changed in colour are currently shod on the Clio:
I am fairly set on Anthracite but we shall see.
ATM I have a few things to decide
Pros & Cons of 15" wheels
+Look a little different
+Lighter than the Turinis but not by alot
+Seems to take corners alot faster on them via a Speedo reference etc. but two of the tyres are brand new.
+Roads seem a little comfier
+Way easier to park in town - Zero fear of kerbing
+Tyres are way cheaper, around 40% less I would say
-16s fill the arches a little more
-Dated looking potentially
Turinis
+Very light for the car
+As rare as the Turbines IMO (The Clio Cup 172 wheels are on mine)
+Similar design to the Trophy wheels
+On a trackday they work really well!
-Slightly stretched tyres compared to the above
-They are on a few Clios
-It is a pain to park in town with the poor steering lock despite being a small car ; Look up Clio Turinis on ebay and most of them are kerbed to Kingdom Come for this reason, and probably buckled
-Some roads are busy
So, it is personal preference.
Anyway, if it were you, which wheels would you go with and if the Turbines what colour would you go for? I'd like the original Diamond Cut finish or a variation of it but A) I am too tight to pay for it and B)I fancy having the wheels looking good for longer than 10 months, a challenge on a Daily when sometimes it does not even see a car wash as much as it should
Here are some pics of my car and others:
The Turbines:
If someone could Photoshop my wheels in another colour that would be awesome!
