Hi all, Just picked up a 1986 k10 1.0 4 speed this morning, my god they're slow. Think I'm in love already, it's very body rolly in the corners though so wanting coilovers ASAP. Has only done 36,000 miles and is in brilliant condition - only a little bit of surface rust wanting sorting. Just stuck some of my spare wheels on (I also run a rally k11 micra) for the time being, the 12" steels were tiny and ran 145/70 tyres! Anyway, Pictures    As you can see, it's pretty tidy. Theres a little bit of rust on the floor near the front wishbone mount, nothing serious but needs grinding back and undercoating before it gets any worse. As I was poking around I noticed that it had new dampers and springs all round - not much use to me however as its going low soon.   Just need some nice 13/14" JDM/BBS rims - if you've got anything nice please PM or post in this thread. Ta all |

I had a white k10 micra as a teenager,had the brownest interior ever! Was an utterly curse word example, the electrics in the dash melted, the indicator stalk smoked me out, then it dropped all its oil out on the m5 and the engine exploded. Do I hate it? No way! Had so many teenaged (hehe) adventures in that heap! Well done for saving one! Tho get the pictures working so we can have a gander!

 Heres a quick picture, I've also tried to fix the links above (Not sure why they arent working, I post in that way on the Micra forum and it works!) Its a fun little car, even though when you turn a corner the body roll is laughable |

Engine bay was/is looking grim - Notice how small the engine is, and how much room there is available, hmmmmm.... Gave it a little spruce up, didn't actually get a photo of it done but just imagine it looking all shiny  |

This is plain perfect. A K10 identical to this one was supposed to be my first ride. Same Color, same interior, white wheels. Exactly like this.
Unfortunately, two weeks before I got my license, my sister thought the red oil can light meant there was a red Jinn in the glove box and patiently waited for it to appear. Meanwhile the engine died.
So my first car wasn't the 86 Micra but a 90 Fiesta which wasn't half as cool.

if your after changing the brown interior i have alot of grey plastics lying around from a K10 i broke (which TBH are a bit faded) and the front and rear seats in dark grey (which are mint) although they are shaped slightly different to your "tombstone" style seats - my fronts have a seperate headrest.
they are just taking up space bud so you can have em for a crate of beer or summat if you want

I'll be keeping the interior as it is, although it's dated looking it is actually pristine and I've already had a load of comments from people about just how "80's" it actually is - However thanks for the offer Feenix  the body roll is hysterical, genuinely never driven a car so soft, even the beetle is stiff compared to this! Been driving the car to and from college this week, just over 200 miles done in it without fault... I do feel a bit guilty about putting mileage onto it (Yeah how sad am I) but its a daily and will probably end up with a bigger engine in it anyway. Ordered some coil-overs the other day from the guy that sorts my rally cars suspension out, just basic things where the height is adjusted via spring compression but they'll do the job :-) Should be getting them on in a week or so |

i thought so and i have to agree that they have a good retro look to them, just wanted to check before i scrap the stuff i have - keep us updated on the coilovers aswell bud, I'm after some for my Pao.

Well the coil overs are ordered - I've got them through my suspension 'guru', if you send him a facebook message through his page "Bright Spark Racing" he should be able to help you out. I'm not sure how many sets he has left but he can order more parts in if needed, he has everything from the basic coillies I'm getting through to high end stuff that would cost me far more than what I paid for the car!!
Spent the day under the car wire brushing/grinding off the surface rust and coating it all in a rust killer/converter before slapping a few coats of black hammerite over the top - should keep the rust bug at bay for a few years.

 Tinted the lights yellow.... Not sure if I like it, think it will look better when its sitting a touch lower so will wait a few weeks and see if it grows on me! Removing k10 headlight units is a curse word of a job too, took me ages haah |

So the coilovers arrived but the spring rates were far too low so they're getting swapped out for some stiffer 'Spine Breakers' - Soon I will have lowzz! In the meantime, have a photo of a rally car  |

Finally found time to get the coilovers onto the car! Before coillies   The coillies them selves  And how its sitting now   The rears need to come down a bit, hoping it'll settle a tad lower. I could drop the fronts another inch or so, however the rears need a new spring/helper spring setup so I'm going to order some new ones. |

I have an issue with these. I got knocked off my push bike as a kid by a K10. Last few years they've grown on me though! Looking good a little lower. Personal preference here, I like the yellow lights, and I like the white wheels, but not together unfortunately  |

Haha, they're ace little things! Aye I only did the lights as I had some tint lying around, I quite like it though so It's staying I'm hoping, at some point, to get some four spoke Revolutions with a polished lip and gold centres when I can justify splashing out |
