However on the Norwegian part of that site it states that when exporting both VRCS need to go with the vehicle and the seller is advice to hand in the plates to make sure that fees nad tax are paid. I'd call them to ask the correct procedure to make sure you do it right as the info differs between the English and Norwegian side of the site. There isn't to my knowledge any tax or vat return when exporting used cars.

Remember that any security for loans (lien?) follow the car and not the loaner so make sure there are no 'pant' on the car buy checking the registration number on www.brreg.no/home/

Thanks very much sonus I will email them about what happens when exporting as obviously the owner will want to transfer the ownership and it looks like you need to be a citizen and have a Norwegian address. It's currently registered as an 'engine tool'? so it doesn't have to pay road tolls.
