For Sale is our 1933 Alvis Siver Eagle 16 Six light Saloon BODY ONLY
Car is currently a Mix-Mash but as above it's just the body we're concentrating on... Sherpa Van chassis, Front end is believed to be an old Albion truck, MKII Zephyr Straight Six engine and then of course the Alvis body.
Body is in surprisingly good condition. All glass is present and in good condition. All doors are present in good condition inside and out, all windows work properly as do door latches and catches. Roof Vinyl has also survived well and cleaned up a treat. Only interior present is the back of the rear seat and some dashboard components complete with cigarette lighter!!
From the information we've managed to gather from the previous keepers nephew we believe the original car what the body belonged to was transformed into a sporty Firefly by the late but great Chris Compton some years ago and was recently sold - www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C539730
Being an 83 year old wooden body it has suffered a little but when I say a little I mean minescule. Just above the drivers head where the roof joins the A-Post it's rotted out a little underneath the vinyl. I scoured every corner of the car with a wirebrush and am happy to report that's all that I could find.
No paperwork with the car as it's just a body. There is a tag on the dashboard under the name of "Turner & Hore" and a few numbers on it but no serial numbers. I also have the original front shroud, not the best condition but it'd be nice to see it go with the car and one day be put back in its original place!
Car is based at our unit in Birmingham, Salford Street, B67SH just off M6 Spaghetti Junction. Viewing to be arranged via PM.
Offers in the region of £5000. According to the AOC this is the 2nd known Silver Eagle to them, the other is a complete car.
Thanks for looking and please feel free to share the love on this one. We understand it's clearly a niche market so raising awareness is key.
