I was informed of this by a friend and found it in a local ladies garage, where it had been for the last 2 years. 1 owner from new and in near mint condition save only for a tiny patch of rust (not perforated) in the rear n/s door shut and a tear in the drivers seat bolster. Easy starting, sweet running 1800 non turbo diesel, 5 speed manual, manual steering, manual windows, manual locking, factory sunroof (amazingly leak free) towbar, in white with grey cloth trim, handbooks, some service history, tools, V5, 2 sets of keys, all present and correct, even has all factory hubcaps present. Original Grundig stereo but code has been lost, 116000 genuine miles (just over 4k per year from new!)
I have done some basic recomissioning, fixed the un-unlockable drivers door and put a fresh MOT on it. The paintwork is rather flat but not unrecoverable, all but the drivers seat look unused.
This would make a great starter retro or winter runabout. It'll never be a GTi or even a clone of one but is is a nice unmolested example, £500 OVNO
