Hello retro rides.
Once again I have some mini parts that I need to part ways with. Today it is my engine conversion.
This came together a few years ago, It is an engine that I have had some experience with, they perform incredibly well and are super affordable, readily available and I thought, why not?
This conversion package here contains everything you need to run a small block ford engine in a classic mini. If you are unfamiliar with these conversions I will try and sum it up as quickly and effectively as possible.
I am sure many of you have heard of Z-cars, Honda conversions, Rover K-Series conversions, and the C20XE redtop swaps, but the Vauxhall smallblock seem to be a little less renowned. The do work, they work very well and they have some huge advantages. They are far more affordable than Honda conversions, parts are in every scrapyard up and down the country. Gearbox choices are quite broad. The engine actually fits in the engine bay very well unlike the Honda or rover swaps. There are chaps making 150hp off of the smallblock 1.6 on bike carbs, a pretty impressive result I think.
So my conversion.
My conversion consists of a Vauxhall front subframe, single bolt, but will fit earlier models with the twin bolt front subframe. This subframe has been made to work with land rover engine mounts which are great because they re affordable and easily available. This subframe will accept any small block Vauxhall engine.
These conversions are quite simple. They are achievable with a basic understanding and a basic tool set, like the mini this conversion is very simple.
This engine will fit in a standard mini front end, no bulkhead modifications, no cubman front, no bonnet bulges. I think this would be awesome in a base model, original looking mini.
Whats included in the sale.
Modified Vauxhall Mini front subframe.
E16SE Vauxall engine
F13 gearbox
E16SE engine loom
All ancillaries
Vauxhall Driveshafts
Mini driveshafts
Brand new Heavy duty rose jointed Lower arms (these cost £120 alone)
Rose jointed heavy duty tie rods
Brand new 225 HP inline fuel pump
Included in the sale is everything you need to install and start this engine, I have had it running, all be it briefly, and it seems to run well.
The drive shafts need to be made, but I would be able to offer this service at cost.
This engine should make around 100bhp, to get similar power from an A-series engine would cost thousands. The joys of this engine is it also has a 5 speed box, they are also easily and cheaply modified.
Price wise I want £500.
I can ship at £50 on a pallet to anywhere in mainland uk.
If paypal payment is made I will have to insist that fee's are covered by the buyer.
Cash on collection is preferred from ME8 area of Kent, I would be able to offer delivery within a few miles at costs of fuel.
