The time has come to part with my Saab. To give it its full title it’s a 1997 Saab NG900 2.0T SE Talladega. A full pressure turbo that has been remapped to stage 1 by Jules_ht on UKSaabs.com. As well as a remap there’s a 2-point subframe brace, doubled up rear anti-roll bar, and a superflex rack bush to limit the steering rack and bulkhead flex these cars are prone to. It’s done 171,000 miles, pulls like a train and starts first time. There’s a CD tuner in there with aux-in, full leather (though the driver’s seat is past its best see pic). Tested until the middle of April 2015.
Bad points:
1.The clutch bites very low – common on NG900s and fixable by fitting an adjustable Vauxhall cable. The cable adjustment also makes an occasional click as it readjusts itself.
2.It looks quite smart in the pictures, which were taken in the summer, but there are a few issues on the body as shown on the other pictures.
3.No A/C. A regas won’t help because I scrapped all the parts.
4.Oil leak from the pulley end crankshaft seal. Parts to fix are about £15 and it looks pretty easy as there’s no timing belt to faff about with.
It’s been a very good friend to me and I’d happily jump in it and drive it anywhere, safe in the knowledge that I would get there.
£300 is the asking price, or offers in that neck of the woods. The car is located just south of bolton, Lancs.
Any questions stick them in here or PM me.
