Ive been thinking again (and its not doing me any good!) about my next automotive purchace. me and my mate are planning a drive to the Nurburgring early next year and currently the chevette isnt upto it. so my options are manta engine and 5 speed box in the chevette (its the one pictured in "do you like my new wheels and page 19 of readers rides") or do i sell it and get a Manta C coupe (rally slagged up) or a BMW E30 318is (stripped, caged touring car style). all suggestions gratefully recieved both on the chevette and other suitable cars! thanks guys.

i was gonna xe the chevette. i built an xe over summer. it had a courtney head and made 170bhp at the wheels in the car it was in before. but as usual my dreams out streched my wallet and i just sold the engine last weekend. people are catching on and the conversion parts are expensive. I'm a poor student so by using a manta 1800 i could get away with the std back axel as manta a axels are poor quality wobbly children's play pony poo

As a fellow poor student i say stick the Manta engine in the chevette, the car currently looks excellent so give it the power it needs

Manta engine in the Chevette,.. Stick the 1800 Manta engine in this year/season,.. then when you got more cash tune it to curse word or get a another XE for it.
Your Chevette is looking spanking at the moment, would be a real shame to get rid of it...

Keep the Chevette - i'm guessing you know it inside out, and if you did an engine transplant you'd make sure you got a good engine and installed it well. If you're travelling all the way to The Nurburgring you want a car thats reliable (as well as exciting on the track) As you are on a budget, buying another car to take could prove risky (better the devil you know an all that) - Though if you really wanted another car, finding a nice E30 BMW like NickB's would be my choice - though I'm having a liking for Nissan Silvias at the moment
