Heh heh, I knew this would divide opinions! ;D I'm working on getting past my own mental block - every bad boy bonnet I have seen in real life has been nailed to some awful tupperware-mobile, so it kind of makes me hate them. But I think they can look good on the right car with the right wheels and the right paint! The Bosozouku modders extend the bonnet over the edge of the car, and I think it looks awesome. But I think had that mod been extensively used by UK "KroozerZ" I'd be hatin'. I'm just challenging my own conceptions and hoping some will join me. Oh yeah, and the bonnet on that Puma is almost there, but yeah the finish needs work.

Well, I'm not a huge fan of modern cars at all but its one of those things that needs the right motives behind it. There's only a couple of cars in Benzboy's first post that work because the bonnets have been altered to reflect the shape of the car and the lights. This: and this, just: Any example where the bonnet just looks like its drooping over clearly rectangular lights is just wrong, wrong, wrong. Also always wrong if its been done so that "bad boy bonnet" can be added to any description of the car.

can't say i'm a massive fan but that's probably due to the immediate image that pops into my head when i hear the words 'bad boy'... However , it doesn't have to be all bad.. love that grey one ^^ Quite subtle compared with some others i've seen so perhaps more a case of 'slightly naughty boy bonnet' .......

Pardon my igronance, but is it a whole new bonnet, just a new outer pressing or only the lower bit? Mostly they're just modified original bonnets - you might be able to get aftermarket ones, I'm not sure. Just extra metal welded onto the front edge and a thin skim of filler to finish it off. Takes skills to design and make one that compliments the car though, I think.

Some of those subtle ones are pretty nice!
I hate the ones where they remove nearly half the headlight, though.

I'm with Seth on this. The biggest problem from some of the examples posted is it looks as if all the owners bought the same modded bonnet and painted it to match their car. A bit formulaic in my book.
The polo or lupo thing works as a bit more work than 'weld a triangle of steel in' methology has been used. I suppose it's the modern equivalent of headlamp peaks.......

Disaster. The majority seem to be clots who think covering up the top of their headlights is the height of style. Looks good on old Polos and Golfs (might buy an '86 Polo tomorrow woohoo) but almost everything else looks gash.

Hmmm, not convinced. Looks a little like the cars got facial paralasis and its eyelids have sagged.
Looks more droopy (cartoon dog) than bad boy if you ask me.

I've never had a problem with a well done Bad-Boy. But then again i'm one of the few on here that also likes modern cars so my views are going to be slightly different. Just to be controversial, here's a very nice Saxo. I can't be the only one that loves it surely?

It is hard to pull off. You need the right car, the right lights, and just a subtle 'badboy'ing. It works on the Lupo and the Bora. just what I thought! I was also going to suggest the rat look for the 309...come on, its no worse than what many of us have done, really.

If the lights are shaped to match, all good, but if it is covering the corner of a normally shaped light i don't like it.
