RatDat will fill you in with tuning choices...he'll no doubt suggest a 1860997R-DET engine from a 546597SZX or something! ;D

IMO the coupe is the nicest of the B210/120Y range Motor options generally are replacing the 1200cc A12 with an A14 or A15 which just bolts straight in, then the usual mods. Not gonna give huge power but its cheap and due to light weight they still go well. Or a CA18DET out of an S13 silvia/180SX. Or an SR20DET out of S14/S15 180SX/200SX/silvia/a few other things that I cant think of at the moment. These two motors have heaps of potential and put out hundreds of hp with not much effort. Theres plenty of datsuns running 10s with these motors. There is a 1200 running low 8s in NZ with an SR20. Even stock in a silvia theyll do 13s if you can get traction

IMO the coupe is the nicest of the B210/120Y range I know I'm out ona limb here, but I've seen more graceful constipated dogs... There were so many gorgous Datsuns and this one looks.... well... fat, bloated and ungainly... Was it F or R WD? I get confused easily...

I get confused easily... The 120Y Coupe/Fastback is none of those things, light, small and nimble and RWD. South Africa also produced a variant known as the 140Z using the same shell but with round tail-lamps and a few other bits and bobs, although.. they had nothing in common with the rest of the Z cars.

The version with the round tail lights was called a Nissan Sunny Excellent in Japan and used the L series OHC engine rather than the OHV A series. They came as a 1.4 or 1.6 and features a slightly extended and restyled front as well as the round tail light rear. They also have a different interior and lots of mechanical differences. The locally manufactured S.A. Datsun 140Z was a version of this model. Forum member joncedric actually owns a 140Z but it's currently waiting transport to the UK from Gibralta. Here's a big pic (wallpaper) of a JDM one off my website... www.ratdat.com/wallpaper/brochurescans/b211_1600gx.jpg
