Hi All, I'm stuck on choosing a grill for my Mk2 Golf. It's a 1.3 so by no means fast, hence I don't want it looking like a race-car. The only difference from the below photos will be a chrome twin stripe bumper and crystal clear headlights. A build thread for the car is in my signature So a single headlight grill or a twin headlight grill? a) b) Many Thanks, Rob

Looks don't matter to me - it's more about what is the better lighting. My 1.8GL Auto had OE headlight and they were excellent so I never felt the need for the twin light grill. However if the aftermarket headlights you have fitted aren't as good as OE then I'd fit the twin grill to restore the light output.

That's a good point, I'd never really thought of it from this point of view. To be honest the current lights are dreadful and not even aligned properly so I doubt whatever decision I make will deteriorate the situation! I don't have the aftermarket headlights so I'm not sure if there will be much of a difference between the two. To be perfectly honest I'm not even sure if the headlights currently fitted are still OEM - they're certainly filthy and well past their best Thanks, Rob

Square Rallye lights Out of those 2 though I'd got single but badgeless. I took my twin lamps out my Golf Gti for a bonrath single lamp badgeless grill.

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

Jetta lights had crossed my mind but either of those involve replacing the whole of the front slam panel, for a grill I don't know if I'd like or not! As for badgeless grills I'm not really a fan - it's a VW and I'm proud of it!! Thanks, Rob

you can get meastro headlights to fit a t25 camper - and they look like rallye lights only they're a tenner on ebay. if youre handy you could make them fit a golf.
otherwise i would fit hid projector units to some crosshatch aftermarket lights, only because they have the clear lens that you would need for the projector bulb.
there would be other ways around it but properly fitted hid units would really improve things
