Bit more done this weekend. Not huge amounts but a bit. Had to fit the new lowering springs, shocks, dust covers and bumpstops while the wings are off to save me removing the struts (lazy I know)  Started to repair the inner wing panel    More progress soon. |

Progress is a bit slow of late but it's been moving on regardless. Inner wing repair. Complete. (Not left in red primer)  Which meant I could start doing this. I need to remove them all again later to repair the scuttle and some surface rust in the wings but it needs driving to a bodyshop for the scuttle so rebuild it it is.    Nearly finished lowering it, just waiting for a new spring pad isolator as one half of one was AWOL.  Did some other all-important jobs like install this UKDM hates you sticker. I've removed the rear head rests. They were definitely not for this car on closer inspection.  And last but not at all least, Panasonic F35. Bought locally from a chap who specialises in old computers.  Very at home.  I'm just in need of painting 2 brackets and then the front bumper can go back on.  |

Slight bit of progress. While waiting for paint to dry I tint-filmed the high beam and fog lamps because they have chip damage that lets in moisture and this was cheap.  And now it has a face again. Temporarily.  Tried wheels round 3,  rims from Colonelk. I like these. I need to decide how to refurbish them.  Also found a home for the fiaam horns I restored last year because bored.  |

Nice work, I've been doing a bit of tint filming as well on the mains for my E34 Love the wheel choice as well, polished up lip with contrasting centre should look sweet |

Throwback to when I had my skoda 'shop truck' Nice work, I've been doing a bit of tint filming as well on the mains for my E34 Love the wheel choice as well, polished up lip with contrasting centre should look sweet Yea, saw you did yours. I'm not overly a fan of it on cars that aren't French but I wanted to stop moisture getting in the stone chips. I think it looks ok though Contrasting wheel centres? Nah. Coded. Not sure if I'm even going to polish the lips yet. Shall see. |

80's tastic! Only just found this thread as I have been busy moving house.
Love an E28 - had a gorgeous 528i back in the early 90's in metallic burgandy.
I like the wheels too, however you decide to use them. All it's missing now is a graphic equaliser with as many flashing leds as possible!

Had the lips polished, suffice to say they look amazing now. love the wheels, and the stereo is super cool too.Any idea of the age of the stereo? Looks bang on period. N/S/F jacking point collapsed. Fun. Made a big hole  Un-made a big hole  Made up the lifting platform ready for the new M-TECH jack-blocks  I've also repaired the back end of the sill but I forgot to take any photos.. |

No, they are the M-TECH additional 'Bolt on' lifting point platforms to allow the car to be raised with a 2 post lift, trolley jack or similar due to the size of the M-TECH 'skirts. Otherwise you could only ever lift it on the standard emergency jack from the OE sill point. They are also an open hollow cavity on the E28 allowing rust protection to be applied very easily |

So past couple of days saw me paint a wheel:  and paint the repaired jacking point and sill.    Made a new rear jacking point. Well. Repaired the old one. Covered in rust converter in that shot..  And gave it a wash to help ease the 'abandoned car' syndrome it was starting to suffer with, and cut and polished the bonnet quickly. Needs going over with a mop really, with the rest of the car..  Tidied the garage today, I can get in there now which is nice.. |
