Hi all,
As per the title, I'm wondering people's opinions on buying and selling cars at different points in the year.
I currently need to sell two cars, one being my daily, and the other one I bought to tinker with and sell.
The one I've tinkered with is currently in the for sale section on here, gumtree and Facebook. (Fiesta on a V reg, 62k) I paid for a classified ad on eBay in late November also and so far I've only had one phone call who was a complete time waster and a no show.
I have lowered the price, even though I'm sure the original price was more than justified based on the condition and others out there for sale.
I've bought and sold a few cars in the past and found that smaller, economical, hatchbacks are usually easier to sell than large cars or juicy ones. For some reason though I cannot shift this fiesta, and it's lovely!!
Is this just because we are in a post x-mad January lull and no one has any money? Or am I doing something wrong?
I am in desperate need to swap my daily (incidentally also a fiesta, (03 plate, 69k), as I now require a bigger, probably diesel car, but I can't buy anything until I've got some money back and the space on the driveway back...!
Do I just need to be more patient, or are there avenues I still need to explore with regards to advertising the car?
Any pointers gratefully received!
Alex
