20 min spare to start playing a little. Back obviously needs a touch with the stick but not dropping it too much. Front is on the bumpstops, quite common for lowered Renault 8s to run on them so this should be fine. Got a few bits to renew and replace but being covered in French mud has protected everything really well, in fact It came apart better than my 5 year old Renault.

Are you able to band the stock rims? Love to know because nobody in holland is able to balance my wheels. The wheels just do not fit the balancing machines....

I have spoken to a company who said they can yeah. Will update when it gets to that point. Chances are I will only band the rear on this though.

Rear looks easy too. That should be a case of lobbing a coil off to get a little drop.

Banded rears and a bit of rake will look most excellent on this. Doesn't even need paint, it's perfect right now.

Looking forward to seeing this completed. Call me silly but I'd like to see the rear axle extended and big fat tyres on wide wheels that sit outside of the body with the body on the floor.

Do the earlier 'star' wheels fit? I've never been sure if they're like the Panhard wheels where the centre detail is the brake drum or if they're some sort of split steel rim. I would like to see them done as staggered split rims, they're a lovely bit of design.

It's a '57 model , so it should have the early star wheels as standard. would be nice though , a '50 split rim , and only widen the rim and not the star.... was yours an exportmodel with the later wheels? I've got the same wheels on my ' 61 and thats an ondine export with a 1050.

It's a late 57 so no star wheels here also has a heater fitted.
Rear may need to come down one coil more. Not sure if there looks like a little to much rake plus I wanted a touch of rear camber.

Reminds me of Parents early Renault R4.. Even the wheels look similar. Basic, disposable steel tube bumpers to protect it without distracting from its simplicity?

Will need to modify the axle drop stops so I can limit the drop of the axle and stop the springs dislocating

I think it was better with rake. That last picture demonstrates why you need wider wheels on the back nicely though.

I likey. Looks a little Crossley esq in that 3/4 front shot. Agreet hat the final drop with a little negative camber looks best - well too my eyes.... Mid mounted Scooby lump and you are Golden.... P.

The drive is probably cancelling out some of the rake visually too. Carry on anyway, it's all good
