I must say the body kit on that black car looks rather nice. Ironically, this guy in the US seems to have gone for the European smoked indicators and side light repetitors. Anyhow I do like the US grille that you fitted. I would be tempted to get one for my car if they're cheap enough. Good progress on your car and I do like the way the car sits on the Eibachs. Did the ones you got from the UK not fit at all then or did they look like they wouldn't fit compared with the Eibachs? Nick. Thanks Nick...you've reminded me to chase up getting my money back from those thiefs at EuroPerformance. I'm down at Silverstone in the Maxima on 24th April. You free on that day? Would be good to get the two Maximas together.

Could you not get the fogs to tuck in closer to the bumper.. up a bit and back a bit fill the gap between the number plate and the indicators but still under the bumper I think they would look good then. Agreed, good call, they would look better tucked in more, but that's a bumper off job, and for me at the minute, life's too short lol. looking good, needs a little more lows, rear looks to high, front fogs defo don't look right in my opinion. There's not much difference between the fronts and rears now. Sometimes think it's a trick of the camera. Won't be going any lower. Lowering options are very limited for these Maximas now, and I feel that, given the compromise I've got with the nice ride and 40mm drop, I've fitted the best option with the Eibachs. So, today I finished painting and lacquering of the badgeless grille. Pics below taken before painting the mesh black.... Pleased with the finish. Then on the car after blacking the mesh... Now, I don't know if it's just me, but I think the fogs look better with that grille. Going to leave it like this for a couple of weeks to see how things grow on me or not.

If those fogs were inset into the grill it would look amazing.

I like the new grille and fog combo. This is a great project, I remember my dad had one as a courtesy car when his Renault Safrane got written off in the nineties. He said I could take it into town but as I'd only just started driving I was worried it would be too powerful!

I'm down at Silverstone in the Maxima on 24th April. You free on that day? Would be good to get the two Maximas together. Yes that would be a tempting proposition. Would that be for the British Racing & Sports Car Club event? Hopefully the car will be road worthy by then. I'll PM you my number so we can tie up closer to the time. Nick.

Front fogs off tonight. Will have a bit of a think about them. Despite the fogs being too far forward and in the wrong place, I really liked the meshed grille with them there. Now the fogs are off, I'm not sure about the grille

I know clear indicators are something that divides opinion but I think on dark grey cars they really transform the look of the whole car. Especially on this as the front indicators are huge! Have you thought about hanging them? (No idea if you can actually get them!). Some 3 spoke wheels (Advan?) would look great on this.

I've re-read it, and I'm presuming you mean 'changing them'? I have thought about it, but to be honest, I like the ambers against the dark grey. Tango repeaters don't usually do it for me, but they're staying on this car. Apart from on a Saab, I hate three spoke alloys, so won't be going down that route mate.

A few small things done.. * New number plates * Painted the rear face of the backbox silver to smarten it up * Chrome tip added, again to smarten it up * 5mm spacers fitted to rear wheels * Centre caps fitted to rear wheels * Engine bay cleaned a bit more * Front fogs spaced out and tinted yellow Pics in no particular order... I'm not 100% convinced by the fog lights still, and the smart money would be on me taking them off and revisiting fog lights when/if I get a Stillen bodykit. The front wheels need 6mm or 7mm spacers to allow for fitting the centre caps. They are ordered, so should be sorted this week.

Hi mate, its a very clean car isnt it!The grey is nice, like your old GT4 was.I know what you mean about the fogs, they're ok,but when you took them off the front end it looked like it was missing something still. They look a little suspended,a bit lost on a limb.Tricky one if you cant get them set back into the car a bit more.

Well, I've tried them centrally, spaced out, clear and yellow, but they aren't working for me, so the fogs are off.... Cleaner

New window regulators/motors ordered for front nearside and rear offside windows. New rocker cover gaskets also ordered, as there is the slightest of oil leaks from the back one. This weekends something small.....brake decals...
