I don't want to be the one to sound negative, but perhaps you should actually ask the person who wrote it first before you get a list of people together to buy something that doesn't exist.
Don't get me wrong it's a great story and all, but I think it might be a struggle to get people to buy something that is openly available to read and download pics for free?
Sorry to sound like such a downer, but that is my first reaction. I mean everyone who has posted their name up doesn't even know what the price/finished article would be yet and I can't help thinking you've jumped the gun a little?

Indeed, hope my post didn't come across as someone being negative shooting you down, as for the right price I could be interested. I'm sure Bruce will be honoured and if anyone can make it happen I'm sure RR can.
That being said I consider myself a true petrolhead and as a result I have zero money to spend on nice coffee table books because I yog it all on rubbish old cars, silly wheels and suspension!

Certainly if I was invovled, it'd be a bit nicer than a word document  I think you make a valid point, however, look at things like the 'Cabin Porn' & 'Restless Transplant' books, essentially printed versions of blogs, and they seem to have made the leap ok. And on my part, no offence taken, I think it's a nice idea, and would make an excellent coffee table book |

Add me to the list please... what a coffee-table book this would be with big formats of those pictures.
Another of those that came to this site via the thread.
As for publishing, take a look at Amazon's Book on Demand service... they are the ones that published 50shades, and if that can get published... then this is head an shoulders worth of publication !
Also means hugely more flexible min run options.
Just an idea.

in equal measures this is not meant to sound praise or insult, there are loads of threads on here with more technical merit and just as much writing skill and passion.
if i may be so bold, ive read them all and allot of MM threads are almost perpetuated by praise alone.
genuine question, but i wondered why MM is the chosen one?

I think things just hit a chord with people sometimes and they engage. Have I wonder'd why fitting a slightly unusual wheel gets more interest than someone building an entire rear suspension setup from nothing? of course, but that's just how it is sometimes - maybe people engage with the things they can get their head around easiest and can have a valid opinion about, such as the way a car looks - it's all subjective. I'd guess with MM specifically, the repeated high interest in his threads is probably due to the fact he's been very active (when his busy life allow's) for a long time on this forum, and since the start he's been doing threads and builds that a significant number of people here find very engaging. Plus there's everything to do with Area 52 and the fact that he's put a lot of effort into the hobby, be it in terms of setting up/supporting Area 52, going on trips and taking the time to share or just simply writing good, thought through posts/threads. Generally around here you, quite rightly, seem to get back what you put in, and MM has put a heck of a lot in. That's my 2 pence anyway.... Also this thread needs more photos, and given the subject matter have some 911's    |

darrenh I think for a few of us, it was actually MM's threads being featured on Build-threads.com and other places that brought us here. I don't think it's anything about being "the chosen one", just a fellow car nut that others feel an affinity to. The actual MM content in his threads is enjoyable. He takes nicer pictures than most and writes in an appealing way that makes you want to do it yourself, whether it's road-tripping or just messing around with cars/lasers/studio props etc. It's the superfluous "These wheels look ace", "You should use this rim" and "Cool, can't wait for the next installment" that clutter up an otherwise enjoyable thread, and in the Lotus thread mentioned above, it actually made Bruce not want to work on the Lotus or post about it. Conversely, for example, JohnnyBravo's RX2 thread isn't as engaging. I love the car, I'm absolutely in awe of his engineering skills and machining, but it doesn't make me want to get an RX2 or fab my own panel presses.
