From memory the bikes in Mad Max were picked up in Sydney then riden by the actors down to the Melbourne area for filming camping along the way, apparently they had a letter from the producer to carry explaining they were actors not a real gang for when they got stopped... Good work, I remember seeing a GT550 with a chair on it round Sheffield The "get out of jail free card" as Jim the goose says to the couple in the bubble top trike in the film, it's a nod to that. Loving this mate, really am. It's one of my goals to build something similar one day and live out my toe utter fantasy lol

I got one of these out of the back of someones garage many years ago... No idea how long it had been off the road but it was happy to spring back to life with just fresh fuel and a borrowed battery. From memory, it never got more than new plugs and a basic service and ran fine for the couple of years I used it. Top marks for the changes, I tried something similar with a GS400 and was well happy with the result. Keep up the good work!

although the paint was good on the side panels, i 've painted them black to match the airbox behind the carb, I want to the seat unit and tank to be the same colour but different from the rest of the bike. Make the seat and tank stand out, cafe racer style. spray booth. sprayed the front indicators too. give you an idea. need to tweak the seat to sit level with the tank can you guess what it is yet ? my most lavish purchase for the gt. Hagon Z1000 rear shocks. 1, they look like the mad max bike, GT air shock were very worn, but mostly because there longer which will lift the rear, give the bike a better stance, clear the light from the rear tyre, down side the fittings are smaller, FFS. think i'll end up cutting them off and welding some thinner thread on total £580

Looking good, really like the mad max bikes. You might be able to swap the bushes and sleeves over between your shocks.

That's a much better idea. Thanks, my GT shocks are spent but I'm sure I could get some new ones and swap them. Cheers!

Then I needed to make a seat base. Glued it all together clapped it and hammered it with the sander Cut the original seat foam down and glued to on, that way I can use the original seat vinyl and it will hide me rubbishness

My mate is building a z650. And he's kindly donated the indicators. So I haven't e matching fri t and back. The rear lenses are very dull, and the fronts need shortening. During quiet time, we have been spraying bits up Filler cap I love it.

Can't wait to see this done. When there in the cafe and get the call for the Knightrider in Mad Max there is a green truck that sets off when the Goose does. I see this painted similar

Quality I feel like I cut my motoring teeth on 80's films. Mad max being one of my favourites. Been busy with the rattle can Frame Mug guard holder (having the mud guard sprayed but might leave it off) The light looks so much better satin black (rather then chrome) Exhaust cut and welded. Sprayed wood burner black Ready for wrapping and fitting Need to cut weld and spray the front indicators stalks. Tidy wiring next

Covered the wooden seat base I made, with the original foam and seat cover. Cut it down glued and stapled it It's a little loose but think it will be one when fitted
