Basically out of the two types of esc i can run on a bike carbed zetec in a mk2 - if i bought one for air and water sensors where would i / would i need to connect the air sensor?! I know the water has to be plugged in and thats fine, i have a late escort top hose for that but, if i buy one for 2 sensors do i really need the air one connected in ? Will it still work or should i hold out for a 89 type esc? Thanks in advance  |

The air sensor just measures the ambient air temp, in an escort or fiesta, it screws into the Airbox.

From past experience is the air sensor isn't connected it makes no difference to the running anyway.

I know so if i don't use it on my bike carbed zetec and just use the water it would be fine i assume? Just had a thought that module had to have all sensors connected working to work?

Hi-Probably best to plug the ambient air temperature sensor in, but even just leave in the engine bay somewhere.
Also the escort water hose with moulded connector you mention is for switching the fan on.
The correct water temp for the esc is on the thermostat housing.
This is starting to all get a bit foggy but in my experience, the one to have is the silver esc that came in cvh's with carbs and coil packs. Makes a huge difference over the red 1100 fiesta thingy.

Having used 3 types of esc on all sorts yes the silver 1 is the better to use but also a lot harder to come by now
Have found that having the air temp sensor doesn't make any noticeable difference

no need to worry anymore bought a nodiz set up, , literally plug and play and loads of tuning scope with it I believe! didn't see the point paying money for a esc unit for then to replace it later down the line, just worked more saved more and bought what I needed haha cheers guys |
