Hello everyone, for sale is my 1993 Injected Polo 1.0 Genesis, it is the 4 speed manual version with just under 60,000 miles on the clock and MOT until April 2016, I haven't owned the car for very long as although I thought it would suit me perfectly when I bought it, I have realised I need a 5 door car really so I have bought a larger replacement.
Note, the engine shot was as the car was being put back together, the cam belt cover and exhaust heat shield are now fitted!
The good:
3 owners from new including myself (I have only owned it for approx 2 weeks, and driven maybe 20 miles in it!)
Full service history with every receipt from new, including the delivery receipt for the car back in '93
All the original owners manual in the original VW wallet.
Being the Genesis model, it benefits from, adjustable door mirrors, metal sliding sunroof, rev counter, sporty height adjustable seats, the same steering wheel as the GT model!
59,950 miles from new with history to back that up.
New brake lines front to back, with recent flexi hoses, new exhaust system, new petrol tank a couple of years ago along with front springs.
Head gasket has just been replaced after buying the car with a blown head gasket, I have run the car for a number of days now and it runs like new, no pressurising of the coolant system, no steam out of the exhaust and no missfiring with nice even compression!
Underneath is in excellent condition, never been welded and certainly doesn't need to be any time soon, check the MOT history of the vehicle online if you like!
Interior is in excellent condition and comes with fitted original mats!
Comes with CD player and original Tape deck!
The bad:
Surface rust on some panels, bodywork in general isnt the tidiest but could easily be brought back to its former glory, or use it as it is.
Rear quarter is dented, I have tried to photograph this as best I can.
I have replaced the oil and oil filter along with the coolant after the head gasket had blown (for obvious reasons), this will need changing again soon to allow any other gunk to be flushed out of the system (I can change the oil again before you pick it up if it goes for the asking price!)
Missing a wheel trim, (3 of them are in the boot)
Cracked headlight from stone chip (needs replacement lens)

I have been using this thing daily and it is running perfect, please don't lead the fact it has a blown head gasket put you off, it is a common failure on these and this one is now a perfect runner!
