My 940 estate is up for sale due to getting an 850 I had been after for a while. As I had planned on keeping it for a while I have spent a bit of money keeping it in excellent order and I will be sad to see it go. Below is a description of it.
Its a 1995 2.3 high pressure turbo. Solid black paint. 115k on clock, mot 09/16, central locking, cd player, electric windows all round, electric sunroof. Recent cambelt change at 108k, new stainless steel custom back box, towbar with single electrics.
Bodywork: In very good condition, some scratches to the paint and small dents here and there but no rust. Looks excellent when polished up. Underside is also rust free. I had a repair done to the front arches and battery box, which is quite a common rot spot on these with clogged drain holes. Rot cut out and new metal welded in. So now the car is rot free.
Interior: The interior is really clean and tidy for one of these. The headlining is good, all switches/buttons etc work. Heater and heated seats are nice and warm. Seats are clean and unmarked apart from a couple of knicks on drivers seat base. However, because i was planning on keeping the car I bought a full grey leather interior with electric seats. It will come with the car if you wish. Its in excellent condition. The boot is enormous with plenty under floor storage. Its all clean and tidy with the load cover still in place. All dials and warning lights work as they should.
Engine/gearbox: 2.3 HPT redblock engine with m90 manual box. 115k miles with timing belt changed at 108k. Engine starts first time everytime and pulls like a train. Turbo boosts no problem and does not smoke. I would drive this car anywhere. The gear box is good and car changes gear with no problem no noisescoming from the box. These engines and boxes are pretty indestructible. If being picky there is a slight weep from the front crank seal. But it does not use any oil so mentioning to be honest. I had a catch tank fitted to the breather system as the pcv system on these engines are notorious for getting blocked and causing back pressure. This was a precaution as the engine does not suffer from this and the breather system can easily be returned to normal with no hassle.
In summary, an excellent big estate that will run and run for years. Unmolested to keep as is or go down the route of modifying it into something really quick.
