Hello Chaps.
It seems that with our wide array of members with different backgrounds this may be the best place to ask.
I like pick ups and i need to buy a new one. There are a lot of pickups out there, Crew Cabs, Super Cabs, King Cabs, Space Cabs and Single Cabs and there are pros and cons for each in my respect as a buyer but it has left me wondering.
I have found a single cab pick up, this is great, i get the longer load bed being the huge pro for me. However, I will be using the truck to cart my hound around. When I had a Crew Cab he sat on the back seat, no problem. With the single cab, when me and my better half take him out he will have to get in the load bed (obviously with a canopy on top) as he wont be able to ride up front. i suppose this isn't a bad thing when he is when he is covered in mud, water and stinks! This has got me wondering.
I know some of the later L200 have rear windows that drop down, which is handy when you have a long load as you can feed it through the load bed and up into the cab. But is it possible to retro fit a sliding or otherwise opening rear window into a single cab early model L200?
I have googled for replacement rear windows with a sliding mech in it, or something like that but i have had no luck. I have even considered buying a rear window, taking it to the glass guy over the road and seeing if they would be able to put a cutout in the window for me to then have some kind of retrofit slider fitted?
I have even wondered if it would be possible to take the whole back window out, replace it with perspex and have it with sliders in it. Simply because it seems easier to work with and i can cut it up in the shop with a jig saw rather than glass.
This is the kind of thing i want.
It is for an early L200, not the stratos shape or whatever it was, 1998 in this case.
Does anybody know of anything that is currently avalible?
