Time to let this go to someone else to take it on.
Apologies if I miss things out just ask below.
Key bits:-
# Built in December 1994 so a very early X300 XJR
# MOT til mid April 16
# 132000 miles
# Turquoise
# Half Leather trim
# AC doesn't work but it has a sunroof
I have owned the car since late April / early May and have had loads of fun, but new company XE means it's now just not getting used. I haven't managed to find any winter storage so thought it best to move on rather than leave it sitting on my drive.
When I bought it, it had 12 months MOT but had hardly been used in the past 6 years or so but appears to have been regularly MOT'd. It was sat on an old set of winter tyres and in need of a good service.
It was the colour I always promised myself so I snapped it up.
First was a trip to CFS Jaguar Specialist and £1300 later I had it back with a new CPS, 2 new remote fobs, a new spare key and a full (inc all fluids) service. The car was now running spot on.
I then (about 700 miles ago) put a set of Falken tyres all round to replace the winter tyres.
Mechanically the car is now very sorted but as you may have guessed from the price its not perfect.
If I was keeping the next thing to do would be to sort the sub speaker on the Harmon Kardon audio as it buzzes with any bass and the CD changer doesn't work (Tape deck does though as does the radio).
After that its up to you.
Body wise a bracket needs refitting to perfectly align the rear bumper, the osr wheel arch will probably need replacing in time. There are a couple of blisters around the front screen.
There is what I can only describe as blooming under the paint on the bonnet, a little laquer lift on the NS A pillar and door mirrors.
Cheers
Karl
