Mr2 Mk1 Supercharger. oukies AW11 Heaven

The increase in torque is massive over the n/a, oversize the pulley and there hilarious. Stock mk1 superchargers had a 0-60 speed of 6·5 seconds I have at least an additional 40bhp from the pulley alone.

Clam to fame here now, I'm a well of useless information, stock SC mk1 mr2 automatic, was the world's fastest production car 0-30, way back in late 86 early 87 ish. So if you'd just blown your wad on a Lamborghini, this would still have you off the lights, well for a second or two anyway lol.

FIXED MY PC



the rare ss exhaust system developed a blow, so I thought I've got a new old stock ss Janspeed system I could bung on it, fast forward an hour later I was in a bit of a daze. I'll explain.



So when I bought the car the p.o. said that the car was meant to have some super dooper exhaust, all I thought was its fecking loud. My mate compared it to a zero pulling out of a straffing run at Pearl Harbour. But the p.o. thought that was all hearsay and he thought it was just a bodge job.

When I removed the system (manifold back) I found a couple of things, it had a cat that was actually still connected to the loom via a sensor, said cat was only mild steel and was the cause of the blow. The rest of the system (back box and down pipe) that I'd removed were ss.

So I went to fit the down pipe from my Janspeed system and almost immediately I knew something was amiss, the angle of the down pipe was all wrong , instead of it being horizontal heading to the rear, it was at a funny angle heading for the ground, now the stock manifold is cast iron, the joint to the down pipe is at an angle, mine was horizontal.
So I stick my phone up between the firewall and the manifold (access is a tad limited) took a picture, to be greated with some writing,


JASMA,on further examination of the rest of the system, I find a couple of little plates welded onto the system and on the manifold the they both say JASMA on one plate then some serial numbers on the other.



I find out that JASMA stands for Japan Auto Sports Muffler Association. Not a make but more of a approval stamp.

The serial number cracked the mystery, the first three numbers are the manufacturer designation, I found this out again through Google foo, that led me too a Honda site that had a post which listed all the manufacturers against a ton of three digit numbers.


So the exhaust IS a rare JDM racing system. Made by Tanabe. A company still making sports/racing exhausts today.

Further googling led me to sticking my phone down the back of the manifold, and hidden on the manifold are the words, Limit AX.



So the mystery was solved , I was the owner of a very rare power and torque gaining proven system, a true 4-2-1 system.

Main problem, it was in dire need of TLC.

So after a personnel recommendation, I took the car to pipe dynamics in Leven Fife.
The flexi had seen better days but was not blowing , but I felt it would be prudent to replace it. The car being a 1987 didn't need the cat for the mot, so out it came to be replaced with a custom decat silencer, this was decided to get instead of a straight through decat because the system was already LOUD, my main concern was it not be restrictive, the owner of the business assured me it would be more free flowing than the cat.






So the exhaust was fixed/saved and my Janspeed is still waiting lol.

Then I had it booked in for the mot,
