Quite simply, we're having a clear-out.
So, up for auction / open to reasonable offers, we have a 1998 VW Passat Estate with the 1.8T AEB Engine and 5 speed manual gearbox.
Starts first time, everytime! No knocks, bangs or groans that shouldn't be there.
A little tappety from cold, but this is a 17 year old vehicle!!
Current mileage is 165,122, but will go up slightly as the car is occasionally in use.
Front bumper was replaced 03/2015, but hasn't been painted to match the car.
Front wings are scabby, but a replacement PAIR will be included.
Boot lid is scabby and could do with replacement.
Rear wiper DOES NOT work, a common fault on the B5 Passat due to infrequent use.
Minor oil leak, coming from the Oil Pressure Sensor - I've replaced with a genuine part, and bedded it in with some sealant, but the oil leak still persists slightly.
Cambelt was first changed at 82,276 miles by MJ Warner VW, I then personally changed the belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, water pump belt and coolant temperature sensor at 150,610 miles on 22/11/2013.
Driver side Window Mechanism was replaced in June 2015.
Sunroof works a dream.
No parcel shelf/load cover - this was missing when we purchased the car - having kids has negated the need for this, as the boot was almost always full!
No Towbar, so hasn't been abused pulling and overweight trailer, or road-hogging caravan about the country.
I have also personally changed the Top Front Arms, Top Rear Arms, Bottom Front Arms, Bottom Rear Arms, Track Rod Ends and Anti-Roll Bar Drop Links at 151,300 miles on 20/12/2013.
It has had a Cat-Back exhaust replacement installed by myself, this was August 2014.
Seats have been replaced with almost identical ones from a B5.5 Passat Estate, these have virtually NO wear on them.
Comes with a set of floor mats as the drivers footwell is in poor condition.
Have had the carpet out of the front and sealed everything up, so the CCM is now dry, and working well.
Previous owner had installed a number of external lighting modifications, and a stupid exhaust that have all been removed so the car is actually legal on the road now. The only thing left that isn't standard are the headlights - these are "Devil Eyes" apparently, with the LED side lights.
Set of 4 multispoke alloys, with an odd spare. Tyres are legal.
I'll chuck in a box of spares I've got, which include a BRAND NEW Clutch, Pressure Plate and Thrust Bearing and an O/S/F Driveshaft.
