Went out for a quick blast today and met another! I had seen the car locally once before, we pulled over for a chat and a look round the cars. I thought mine was a good sleeper with the 2.8 in hiding but this touring has a 4.4 V8 under the bonnet! I like it when this kinda thing happens, this dude and his mate were nice guys who I would have never met if it wasn't for a like for messing with old motors I've posted this in readers rides also as part of my cars journey

Awesome stuff. I went out for a test drive in my Datsun a few months ago (when the evenings were warm) and there was a fairly fruity E30 Beemer following me for a while. I turned around to head back having established that my 'fix' hadn't further broken the car. Popped into the local petrol station and a few minutes later he has pulled in to, spoke to him briefly and now when I see him around get a wave.
Driving retro cars is awesome.

Cool,i love it when this happens and yeah it feels good to be different from the "white goods" drivers ,always seems to be in petrol stations with me. I was fuelling up the Eunos a few weeks ago and when i came out of the shop another early Eunos was parked behind me and the bloke was looking round mine.Cue long chat as we blocked up the pumps for a while.
Same petrol station this week and the cashier starts telling me he had a blue one ten years ago and starts getting all nostalgic about it.

Sorry steveo, no pics of the V8, it looked well in the bay though! Inside engine bay was sprayed cherry red. Looked a tight fit.

I'm under the impression that the v8 is a very cosy fit, had someone ask me to do some fab work on one before now and it sure wasn't the most straight forward of conversions, sure takes some determination.

Good grief, a 4.4 V8 must be an absolute hoot in one off these. I mean they're lively enough with a 2.5(+) six.
Two other points to note: 1. Yeah, driving. Driving about in your cool old car. That's what it's all about. I think sometimes we forget that. 2. Both of these cars are clearly super cool. I srsly wants an E30 again. Waah!

Both those E30s looks awesome! It always puts a grin on my face when i see someone looking at a sub £2k retro when it's parked metres away from a £50k sportscar

On the A14 Saturday I passed a grey Rover P4 3 litre and a late 80s 280 SE Merc, both really tidy. Old boy driving the Rover, and an entire family out in the Merc!
Both drivers looked proud as you like of their cars, and drove with a content smile.
That's why we all love a retro.
