Just bought a Vitara, it has a straight through pipe and is therefore noisy. It amused me for 5 minutes, but after the drive home it needs to go. What cars have a smallish back box with a straight pipe out the back, a bit like the picture below:

I use a MK3 Astra item for my Polo (1.4 16v - 2.0 8v models). They're still less than twenty quid i think, straight in/out, about 48mm ID and the oval-tube design is petite enough to sit happily in the small cavity by the 13in spare wheel under the boot floor of the tiny 80's VW Polo.
The tail pipe aims down to the floor at the tip, typical of retro Astras, but it's a fair length so i chopped that off and have it pointing straight out.

This might be the sort of thing youre looking for? It has no hangers, not sure if it comes with them, but the universal ones mean it should fit anything.
