1983 Land Rover Series III 109 Station Wagon
Full years MOT with one advisory (oil leak).
105000 miles with service history to back this up.
Purchased in January 2014 and have covered around 10,000 miles since, using the car daily.
Reconditioned rear axle fitted along with new U-bolts, leaf spring, bushes, brake lines, shock absorbers, prop shaft etc. Receipts to prove.
200Di engine fitted earlier this year. New clutch, refaced flywheel, new engine mounts, entirely new fuel system etc . etc. Turbo supplied but not currently fitted (or needed in my opinion). Currently getting between 30 and 35 mpg when commuting. I also noticed significant improvement in power delivery over the old engine.
Chassis and bulkhead in very good condition. Chassis was restored by the previous owner and is very solid. Under seat tool box is completely solid, as are all suspension mounting points.
Previous owner also rebuilt the gearbox, Fairey overdrive and front axle assembly including brakes but covered very little mileage. New master cylinder, servo and front brake lines were also fitted.
Solid if slightly tired bodywork. Paint comes up nicely with a bit of elbow grease but is faded. New passenger door top fitted.
Interior is good, seats are all in good condition and the driver benefits from a defender seat. A defender type centre glove box has been fitted. Headlining is a bit torn and the dashboard has some loose wiring from a radio.
The car has been rewired to a good standard. All electrics work. Halogen headlights have been fitted.
Brand new genuine Land Rover wheels fitted with Michelin tyres which have about 6000 miles on them now. These really quietened the drive down and have years left in them.
I’ll be very sorry to see the car go, it has given me two years of very reliable service. Sadly my commute has changed from a few miles of country lanes to motorway miles which doesn’t really suit her.
Viewing welcome and encouraged.
More photos available which will be added asap.
