I have for sale a Mini Clubman Estate. Hasn't turned a wheel for 15 ish years. No reg, paperwork or keys with this but I do have the VIN and commission no plate, these confirm that it is a Clubman estate, auto, 1000 engine, built between 1975-1980 at Longbridge.
Not the prettiest thing i've seen but definitely worth restoring - i've seen much worse brought back to life!
Starting from the top:
Roof in very good condition along with gutters. All pillars in good condition. Rear doors are pretty good with some corrosion at the bottom of each. Driver and passenger doors are also quite good with minimal corrosion again at the bottom of each.
Both rear quarter panels are nice and straight, both have minor rust along the gutters beneath the windows. Both also have rust along their bottom edges. N/S wing and A panel have been removed. O/S A panel removed, wing needs removing. No front panel in place. Bonnet has a good old dent in, salvageable by someone who knows what they are doing. Bulkhead only has minor surface rust. Scuttle panel is good. Both front floor panels need replacing. The rears could be saved but whilst you are in there probably best just to replace completely. Complete floor panels are available in two halfs for £65 each. N/S sill is pretty bad, bank on replacing both inner and outer. O/s side isn't so bad, the rear 2/3rds could be saved - again probably best to do it all whilst you have the welder out! Boot floor is very good. Tunnel is good. Rear inner arches are good.
Engine is there, haven't got as far as seeing if it will turn over. No carb or other ancillaries. Exhaust system is in place, looks useable.
Headlining is nice and clean with only one very small tear. Dash and clocks etc are complete and in good condition. Proper Clubman steering wheel.
All glass present and correct.
Rear shock absorbers look quite recent.
As a guide for panels needed:
Complete front and rear floor pans £65 each.
Inner sills £43 a pair.
Outer sills £37 a pair.
Front wings £111 each
Front panel £110
Bonnet landing panel £25
Headlight support panels £15 each
- or a complete fibreglass front end for £170!
New A panels included with the car.
3 of 4 wheels are seized on. With some work and WD40 i'm sure they can be freed off. I can load the car on a pallet for you on to a trailer/ transporter. This is how it was brought here. The shell still has plenty of strength as the doors open and shut easily and with probably the best gaps i've ever seen on a Mini!
Have a good look at the pictures, see what you think. This won't be ready over a weekend but could easily be done over this winter. Worth strong money when tidy and complete.
Viewing is available in SN7 near Faringdon with some notice. PM me with a number if you are interested.
