Here we have my much loved BMW E38 740i. Finished in rare Arktisgrau metallic paint this lovely example has only covered 93000 miles with what is the most comprehensive service history from new. The bodywork is in excellent condition along with the immaculate black leather interior. 3 keys are supplied with the vehicle, 2 remote keys and 1 showroom key which still has the showroom tag on it from 1994! The car pulls effortlessly with its 286 bhp 4.0 v8 engine which has 420Nm of torque. This car is capable of 0-60mph in 6.5 seconds and limited to 155mph.
The previous owner to myself which was an older gentleman purchased the car from Eastern BMW in Edinburgh back in 1994. He owned the car until August of this year totaling a 21 year ownership of the car. During his ownership he had the car serviced meticulously by BMW. Everything has been documented including brake fluid changes every 2 years. He even had the car taken to BMW periodically to have the wheels and tyres rotated! Unfortunately the gentleman passed away hence how i aquired the car. This truly was his pride and joy and has been garaged its whole life.
All handbooks, service books and radio manual are all present in the original BMW holder. The previous owner has went through the owners manual and highlighted everything relevant to service intervals, coolant changes, tyre rotation, brake fluid changes, tyre sizes etc etc. This just shows the level of care this car has had. 2 pixels in the MID have gone.
Overall this car is in time warp condition. It doesnt use any oil or coolant and there are no knocks or bangs from the car whatsoever. The temperature gauge always sits bang on half like it is meant to. Inside the car is a glorious place to be and any long journey that needs to be done, this car will make you feel relaxed and refreshed at the other end.
Cruising at 70 mph the revs are sitting a little above 2000rpm and she will return a healthy 31mpg. Around the town anything between 19 -22mpg. Kick down works exactly how it should along with the sports mode on the gearbox.
I have recently replaced the centre tie road assembly as the previous one was creaking and at the same time noticed that all suspension arms have been renewed and discs and pads. I checked previous mots and noticed all of this was done. I still have the original 16" alloy wheels which have 4 new pirelli tyres on them (once again shows no expense has been spared on this car).
The car sailed through its MOT in October with no advisories and i have an abundance of previous mots to go with the car along with receipts etc. I still have the original dealer key ring!
As previously mentioned there are 3 keys (2 remote) with the car and there isn't even any wear on the buttons for the remote locking. The chrome work is in superb condition and underneath the car there is absolutely no rust or un-toward marks anywhere. Due to the condition of the chrome work and underside i can only assume the previous owner had the car garaged its whole life, there is absolutely no scratches on the chrome of the bumpers!
The car has been fitted with an upgraded sound system which will be available at an extra cost of £500 above the selling price of the vehicle. If you don't want the sound system i will take it out and keep it for the next car. It does sound excellent though! This consists of:
2 12" Vibe space subwoofers 6000 watts
Sony bluetooth DAB Digital radio
5500 watt 6 channel amplifier
6000 watt 5 channel amplifier
6 farad Lanzar power capacitor
Split charging 2nd battery system
All wired up with OFC wire and 0 gauge amplifier wire.
I have the car up for a price of £3195 ono without the sound system. The price is negotiable but silly offers will be ignored. I believe this reflects the condition of the car along with the plethora of history and upgrades the car has had. I understand and know that you can pick up e38s for less money but i can assure you they will not be in this condition. The upgrades alone including the wheels were well over what you can buy an unloved E38 for. Keep in mind this is a 1 owner full service history garaged BMW 740i V8 with less than 95000 miles on it!
I would possibly be interested in Ideally i would look at a classic BMW/Merc, possibly an X5 or 200sx, pulsar, skyline (all very different cars i know) but try me with what you have if interested.
I can get more detailed pictures of any part of the car or pictures of the service history books if you need them.
