Loved my old W126 420SEL, from the smooth V8 to the electrically height adjusted front headrests to the rear passenger footrests! Doesn't get much more luxo or bargey than that for the 80s (just sneaks in at 1989...)  |

I've always like the Gen-3 Accord, I almost bought a Saloon before I bought the Metro. The Accord Aerodec has always intrigued me, all the velour of the Saloon in a 4-seat hatch... Pop up lights FTW!  That and the Rover 800/Sterling series:  |

My merc is a 1991 so doesn't count  I love the BMW e23s though... just look at this 1980 for sale www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C583895 The price though!   My old one (also owned by another member of retro rides... should never have given up and sold it on)  |

For me it's the Jaguar XJ series 3. I'll second that! But also like the Rover SD1, Triumph 2500, BMW & Mercs of the era and quite like the period Granadas. So anything British or German I guess.  |

E23s do tickle my tackle, always fancied one, not really a BM kind of guy either. Triumph 2500s are stunning, I used to have a 73 MK2 TC 2500 in burgundy, still one of my favourite cars to this day. XJ6 Series 1s are a recent favourite after seeing a build thread on here for a certain silver one with a XJRS lump in. MMMMMMM

It's on the Applecross pass, the most stunning road I have driven in the UK and one no doubt many here are familiar with. I try and visit a few times a year and always take any 'new' purchase on a roadtrip involving it to get to know the car better.... sorry for the off topic pics:   If you head over on an overcast weekend then it's quite often pretty empty, so you can drive for hours pretending you are back in the 80s or 90s. I do fancy an 80s W126 Mercedes like the one posted above next! |
