My old 1959 Series 2 Landy has been laid up for the last 18 years.
I took it off the road due to a rotten rear cross member which in my youthful exuberance I chopped off only to never get around to having the new one welded back on.
Recently somebody came knocking at the door offering £350 for it.
It's basically all there, the bulkhead is absolutely rotten. It has a hard top and a pick up top.
It will require a complete overhaul and maybe a re-chassis.
Anyone know how much it's worth?

If I was buying then I'd be happy at 350 but just sold a 1960 project truck in need of a rebuild for a grand. It did run but was still a full rebuild project.
Pictures would help give an idea.

Thanks MonzaPhil
I think I'll push for a few more quid.
It's a non-runner in that it hasn't been started in 18 years, I reckon with a bit of fresh fuel and a new battery she'd go though as the engine is still turning around with the handle.
Not in a position to get photos at the moment, but maybe tomorrow.
Cheers!

if its tax exempt the book and vin are worth £250 if it has the old round heater in servicable condition its an easy £100 wings if in nice condition should do £50 each...
sadly the rest of the vehicle isnt worth much more than scrap value really...

Thank you all for your input.
In the end we agreed on £600 which was fittingly what I paid for it 20 years ago.
It was really sad to see her go but I'm glad it's gone to a local old boy who's done a great job of restoring his current Series III. I simply don't have the time or the inclination to have done it. He's promised me a drive once he's finished the resto.

Sounds like a sensible compromise and hope it gets rebuilt nicely.
Well done.

Probably about right, but sure you could got more if you put it on eBay. It's nice it's fine to an enthusiast though.
These "proper" S2's are flying up in value now, and have been for about a year now. Just about the best Land Rover investment you can have right now.
