For Sale is my 1988 BMW 518i Lux in Alpinweiss. Regrettably, a new job and a move to London means that I no longer have the time to devote to it, so I would like her to go to a good home .
I bought this car in April 2013 with 101k on the clock. It has now covered 121k of mainly cross country driving in my ownership and been an absolute pleasure to own. A recent job change and move to London means that I no longer have the time to devote to it and therefore, regrettably, the time has come to find a good home for it.
The car was registered in February 1988 and bought from Sycamore of Cambridge BMW, the original plate and dealer sticker are still present showing this as is the service book (stamped up) for the car.
I've got plenty of invoices from my tenure of ownership as well as two BMW "torch" keys and the spare key. The car is in excellent order and drives as it should, it has been regularly serviced and has MOT up until the end of February 2016 and is taxed to the end of March 2016.
There is no rust to speak of on it and it has been undersealed with Waxoyl and also had the arches treated with clear Waxoyl. As can be seen on the photos the exterior is in nice shape and it comes with the side stripes in place. The interior is in equally good shape and there are no rips or tears present in the upholstery, nor is there any shrinkage to the door cards. The interior is in blue velour with "Comfort" seats. It also has a crack free dash which is becoming a rarity on these models and comes with a period Blaupunkt radio cassette in working order. Being the Lux model, it has a nice spec given the era with central locking, electric windows, electric mirrors and tilt and slide metal sunroof. It also has period BBS Mahle wheels which were refurbished in Summer 2014 and have four good tyres with plenty of tread on them. There is a fifth alloy of the same type in the boot with the spare tyre. To be up front, the aerial has got stuck in the "up" position recently.
Any inspection or test drive is most welcome and further photos can be supplied on request. Any questions, please get in touch!
