Looking good, I do like a nice standard build, I'm not normally a fan of mini's but if I was to have one, I'd want one like off the movie! In the summer i'd have my windows down and my radio would be blasting out the movie theme - I wouldn't be able to help myself,

If that was mine i would have it standard inside and out but with a few engine /suspension mods , going for the stealth approach .
I always like the Italian Job editions , nicely done up but not o.t.t .

Lol, keep watching mate, that may be exactly what's happening More updates to come as we are a bit further on but just need a bit of time at the computer.

If your not on ' The Mini Forum ' i suggest you join and keep a eye on the parts for sale , i got some real bargains from some good people there . Best of luck . Just signed up. Thanks for the tip Nearly there! Welding started, and though there aren't too many photos there was a fair amount of welding!! We did some shopping (there's still a fair bit to do! And picked up an engine (The original one is still here, but needs a complete rebuild so I thought I may as well look for one that had already been built up) Can't find the ad at the moment, but think its a 1293 with a few tuning goodies (really must dig out the info!!) The wheels went off to be stripped and painted (seems you can get 4 wheels in an RCZ boot!) And then before we really knew it, it was time to pick it up! It's a standard white, but Denise decided that she wanted a full black roof. The stripes on the bonnet were supposed to be painted as well, and there are a couple of blemishes on the boot that will need to be looked at. And, even though we gave them the chrome bullet mirrors so that the holes could be drilled it's come back with the holes for standard mirrors We'll need to track down a new set as I butchered the old ones to see if they could be used on the van (they could but I've moved on a bit from there ) In and around delivery I started on the subframes and finally got the front one stripped down ready for blasting and paint (or plastic coating) It looks alright, there's already a set of Hi-Lo's there and bar one bent tie rod, will all be cleaned up and re-used. Next up, I need to make a start on the rear subframe, and then refurbish all of the parts to build them back up again! That's us up to date, so now it gets to share my attention with the other 2!!

Blimey, this one needs an update too! Maybe I should combine them all into one! So what's happened? Well, not a lot actually (the other two and a house refurb have kept me busy elsewhere!) but I did manage to strip down the subframes and get them blasted. They are in excellent condition, the back just need a tweak where it had been bent up by the jack when I was mucking a bout getting it on the trailer. Stripped, zinc primer and POR15 so they should be good for a few years yet! And because I was sick of walking into the trailer hitch (conveniently positioned at knee height aren't they? ) I coerced a couple of my mates into giving me a hand to shift it onto a trolley so I could move it around while we emptied the workshop of all (or at least some) of our furniture!! 2 of us did it last time and I'm sure it was a lot lighter!! I do plan to make a start on it over the coming months..... Honest

wow that's going be a lovely mini when you've finished. I drive past a mini 30 at least once a week that desperately needs saving but I just know it's going to be a rotbox! Something keeps telling me to knock the door though!! Look forward to seeing yours finished.

My first ever car was a 1962 Mini Minor 850, reg' 4074 KR, so I have a soft spot for a proper Mini. Mine had an Austin 1300 conversion and Cosmic alloys too. I'd look ridiculous in a Mini nowadays but I still quite fancy one when my lotto win comes along. Look forward to seeing yours progress.
