Here for sale is a lovely little Toyota 1977 Toyota 1000 or KP30.
I'm in no rush to sell this car but I don't really need it either, it's for sale at this price to gauge interest.
So what do we have, a nice, solid rear wheel drive Toyota from the 70's. So whilst there is some rust coming through in places this car is remarkably solid and could be a complete restoration for an immaculate car, a rolling restoration or used as is for many years with little remedial needed.
I happened upon the car in an actual barn, but not your dusty, used to store old farm equipment barn, this was a barn converted to a lovely garage flanking a beautiful thatched home and it had sat there for ten years having been in the same family for most of it's life. The car was traded into a Vauxhall garage and was kept by the owner of the garage and passed to various family members within that family until ten years ago when it was put into the barn shortly after being serviced and MOT'd.
The car hadn't run for ten years but with a fresh battery, some fuel and a check of the important bits the car fired straight up and runs like a swiss watch. The brakes were seized so it's had all new discs and pads fitted and new brake shoes on the rear. It now goes stops and steers. I have noticed a small leak in the radiator so this would want replacing/repairing eventually but currently only seeps.
I have every faith this car would pass an MOT but I haven't yet taken it, if it did fail it would be something minor like a bush or similar. There is no rust on the structure of the car.
The interior is very clean, everything works and is present, the headlining doesn't sag, the carpets are in good order and with a good clean and shampoo would come up very nicely. Bar the brakes I've done nothing to it.
I'm sure I've missed lots of information and this thread is to encourage people to speak to me and get a good idea of the car. But in the meantime please see the pictures below.
To make it mint the car would need some paint and it's so small you may as well pain the whole thing. It would also require some remedial work on the rear arches but again there is nothing out of control, as with all things when you're selling it's easier to point out the negatives! But overall a very solid little car with lots of potential.
Please note most of these pictures are as it was found, it would be much better with a good clean. Which I will get round to, but, with two young children time seems to disappear rapidly!
Apologies for the mediocre pictures taken hastily with an iPhone, I will endeavour to get the car in the open and take some half decent shots in some half decent light! Drop me a message for my number and we can have a chat.
Cheers,
Adam
