Wondering if any can help directly or knows of a good exhaust place in the West Mids who could help? I've been preparing my Saab for sale and as part of this I've been changing the exhaust back box for a custom fit one which came off a 9-3 but appears to be slightly off fitting to mine These pics show it on the mountings but as you can see the pipe doesn't match up As I'm selling the car I'd ideally not like to spend a huge amount on getting it sorted.. so does anyone know of a cheap exhaust place who'd be able to sort a fix? I'd have a go myself but I don't want to be going through a load of trial and error with ordering different bits of pipe! Cheers in advance

Probably not too helpful but if you're selling why don't you leave the standard exhaust on the car?

I reckon the Janspeed backbox is part of a cat-back system setup, and not purely a backbox that swaps across.
Mr.Tyre behind the university are a Powerflow dealer. I'd go along and ask them how much they would want for the job.

My friend had a 3" custom made system done for his E46 330d and the quality of it is great and it wasn't too much iirc. He's local to Cov too, I can get the details for you if needs be?
I also live down the road from Mr.Tyre if you want me to grab you a quote, although my friend had some work done there on his MX5 and really wouldn't recommend them!

I'd go along and ask them how much they would want for the job. Aye thats a good shout, the guy I bought it off said the rest of the system was knackered when he took the box off but didn't say whether it was standard or not. In hindsight I should have chopped a bit of pip off the old back box and used that to cobble the new one on.. Ah yes, I only just remembered about them earlier today as I was driving through Cov, I may see what they say My friend had a 3" custom made system done for his E46 330d and the quality of it is great and it wasn't too much iirc. Ooh that sounds interesting, I'm not bothered about a full system but if the guy is reasonable on price I'll give them a shout Ah what was the issue he had with them?

They fitted a clutch and must've have put the box on incorrectly as it was making a god awful whine and grinding noises off power after fitting and refused to accept any blame for it. Had been in the car the day before and the box had been perfect.

TBH I find most garages give me one issue or another when it comes to fitting a clutch . Only on a few occasions have I had a car come back from a clutch swap with zero issues. My dad's Mondeo is curse word out gearbox oil from the input shaft seal which the garage has not fixed yet but then we did drive the car with a leaking slave cylinder bearing for the best part of a year... Finding a good mechanic is damn tricky these days for bigger jobs. As a matter of fact I am drawing up a shortlist of where to get the RST's diff and clutch done.
Do you know what gearbox oil they put in? IME alot of places will put in 75W90 since it is the cheapest and most common oil to gearboxes. My Clio for example runs on 75W80 GL4+ oil but most put in 75W90 GL5 which is meant to be questionable on the bearings and alot cheaper. Not what you wish to see on a car with a reputation for having a weak gearbox.
