I know Mk1 and MK2 Gti's have climbed in price over the last few years, especially MK1's but nearly 11k for the above? Maybe if it had lower mileage, perfect body, just one owner, FSH with a detailed engine bay it might be worth it?

Guess the market will dictate?

Guess the market will dictate? Yeah, it seems like a fair bit of money alright for a non perfect Gti. But of course you are right, if that's the going rate that's what it's worth. Just love to know what a perfect one owner with very low miles is worth now or more importantly what it would actually sell for? Of no real relevance but I sold a '85 Mk2 in 1996/7 and couldn't give it away and bought another BMW 2002, happy days.

14K! There's a lot of nice cars out there, classics too for that sort of money.

With that thinking I shouldn't have sold my Porsche last year ; they've gone almost silly in prices. I shouldn't have sold my Beetle either with their vales going up...
Come on guys, let's not make this thread a whingefest about something as simple as supply and demand. The Golf does look quite clean however.
As for £14k buying alot of classic many classics seem to have risen lately, including one I own at the moment.

Are we not allowed to make comments on cars for sale, fair comments too nothing more imo? If we are not allowed to comment may be the car should be advertised as a standalone advert and not posted on a thread where people like you and me can make comments. As for the Golf looking ''quite clean'', it's not 11,000 pounds clean, judging by the sales pitch and photos, again imo. Maybe that's why the price has been lowered now... Yep, 14k would be a great budget to have to buy a classic even one's that have risen in price (not many drop in price anyway)!

I was merely referring to the RR Modus Operandi . If it came across as an attack I apologise .

Scene tax tho. all over priced considering 205 gti 's [curse word all over these as standard and are more fun to drive & look better and go for 3-4K mint, as you say the price has only climbed because of how many people are in to vw's (never understood why) but that's my opinion, saying that this mk1 does look very nice , tidy and clean.
