My wife does a bit of pet care as a part time business and we had a nice A4 sticker made up for the spare wheel carrier on her Discovery. The carrier is a half hard shell glossy finish one. Some #### torn the sticker off, we suspect another local similar business as sticker was found in hedge. Any advice on getting rid of the residue without damaging the surface. I was thinking paint brush cleaner, works for most things, but have also heard of people using baby lotion to remove residue on bike frames. Mark p.s. Anybody want any pets looking after in SN4 postcode....

Thanks, that looks good, but £2.99 postage for a £3.99 product.

I used Tar remover recently. Worked a treat and safe for the cars paint. I think its an auto glym one? Prob bought it years ago from Halfords for a few quid.

Or a cheaper fix - Try WD40. Will definitely give this OK, when the rain stops, although it will only reinforce my wife's belief that WD40 cures everything! Thanks

Meths is good for getting rid of the residue and doesn't leave a wd40 'sheen'...

WD40 followed by a decent polish, such as Autoglym Super Resin (everyone has a bottle in the shed, right? )

I use WD40 but also have a bottle of isopropyl alcohol for more delicate items like the stickers on books and such.

Mr sheen works quite well dependant on type of adhesive
|
|
If it can be fixed with a hammer, then it must be an electrical fault
