1985 mk2 transit tipper
Diesel
Mot'd till April 2016
This is my daily work vehicle, in very good running working condition.
Having to reluctantly sell her due to needing more seating/storage capacity.
She's on the V5 still as a petrol which will suit you LEZ compliant drivers. In the sale is included the 2.0 pinto engine if you wish to restore her back to her former self.
1991 2.5 Di (banana), with 114k miles on it.
Just fitted (1000 miles ago) a genuine ford cambelt, tensioner and pulley, also the correct mk2.5 water pump which lifts the viscous fan away from the cross member as per factory.
New rocker gasket and all valve timing has been correctly adjusted.
Just serviced with oil, fuel and air filters and fluid and antifreeze.
Bullet proof engine, with the preferred Bosch fuel pump.
Brand new clutch fitted in July
MT75 5 speed gearbox. I've just fitted a wide ratio box which suits better the diff.
(I have the close ratio gearbox also available depending on negotiation of sale price.)
Mk3 tipper propshaft with new centre bearing.
Completely rebuilt rear axle with very very rare and desirable 4:63 diff.
New hub seals, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings etc.
205 tyres to compliment diff.
New front wheel bearings.
Mk3 heavy duty (diesel) front springs fitted
Heavy duty helper springs fitted on rear.
Fully working trailer electrics with ball and pin hitch
3 seatbelts
CD player (still have original dash blanking panel if you wish to remove)
Refurbished heater blower and switch (all 3 speeds work!)
There is a discrete cigarette lighter in glove box for phone/sat nav
Rear body is aluminium, very light. The van with half a tank weighs in at just over 2 ton at 2080kg so the payload on this beats any newer transit indeed most other vans.
Tipper body is the original one fitted from new in the same town as the ford dealership it was sold at. It's very rare to have this as most mk2s you will see fitted with much later steel bodies which don't have the charm this one does.
Rear floor has a winch fitted (though currently not wired in)
The rear of the Buck has metal rungs which will hook up ramps (I use Ifor williams trailer ramps) to load up a garden tractor or mini digger
Crane fitted to bulkhead, handy for loading engines, cement mixers etc.
This is pretty much a unique vehicle, really nicely spec'd to make this an everyday useable reliable work truck with bags of charm to go with it.
Please bear in mind this is used daily as my work vehicle, it did 10k miles last year. She's over 30 years old now. The chassis has had repairs, there are a few paint blisters etc, the passenger seat is worn, near side mirror is cracked. But it is an honest genuine truck not like the all too familiar "barn find" that's had a one day blowover and rattle can silvered wheels!
Located near Colchester/Sudbury Essex
Please no time wasters or silly offers.
If your serious about this vehicle then you will understand and appreciate the spec this truck has.
No PX offers either
