The site I normally use for MOT history checks ( link) is down, been down for a few days. Anyone know of an alternative site? I'm looking to check out a car I'm interested in, not seeing it until Friday.

The link I posted above used to (not since the 9th of October, by the look of things) to let you check the MOT status and, if you had the doc ref from the V5, check the MOT history for all of the electronically recorded MOTs. Right now, it just says that the service is currently unavailable. Which is a bit annoying.

I hope it comes back, was a useful service when buying a car.

I hope it comes back, was a useful service when buying a car. Yeah, especially when the seller either has no history or is trying to hid a moody history. That site has highlighted a few mileage anomalies and very suspicious MOT passes when I've used it to check a car out.

Thanks for sharing - great link! I can now openly check the MOT history on my neighbour's cars...and realise the MOT fails and advisories on my own cars are much worse...

Ive just checked on that site using the details of my old Vectra and it is wrong. Nov 2005. Failed... no it didn't. NOv 2066 no details listed although it passed. NOv 2077, failed,, It didn't fail. 2008-2010 passed 2011 mileage stated 164k when it was less than 120k.
So I then checked the Volvo.... ooopps. MOT has expired.

Updated website doesn't seem to show mileage for all the cars I've checked. Also, anomalies noted in the record for @1300dolly's motor. I guess this is a new service that's still being fully phased in?
Not needing the V5 doc number or MOT number anymore is a bonus. That was always a pain to get out of a seller who wasn't good with cars.
