Shamelessly copied and pasted from my thread on MX5NUTZ.
Hi. Some of you lot with MX5's may know me from the Nutz forum / FB Page. If not, herro. I am Fizbne.
I used to own a track prepped MX5 and it was my baby, but due to the future bringing on BIG plans and a BIG move to the other side of the world, I had to let the car go.
So after selling my car I thought "I think I'll go out for a driv... Oh wait". It suddenly dawned on me that I am officially a car-less peasant and a curse word runaround is needed. But, I'm not the kind of person that will settle for a curse word Corsa, or a curse word Clio. I want something interesting. So after searching and searching, a friend of mine linked me to the car of my dreams. Well, not really they're quite curse word and I owned one before so I thought "lol k den". So last Thursday night I went to pick up my new daily / now only car at night time. When you should 100% NEVER buy a car but whatevs, I was too excited to wait till Sunday. and am I glad I didn't wait.
The car was up on the KKITP.com, and it used to be owned by a friend of mine that I know off the forum. He sold it to an old dude on there who used it as a runaround so I didn't do many checks. Plus there's not a lot much that can go wrong with them (if you wanna read up more on Kei cars, and find some really cool curse word for sale then check out the site). Paintwork is pristine, a small ding on the bonnet, and the plastic bumpers are a bit curse word, but other than that, it's a minter.
So, here is my new ride:
DAIHATSU MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE HUEHUEHUEHUEHUE LOOK AT IT AHAHAHHAA.
An important thing to note is this is a Standard MOVE not a MOVE+ which my old one was. So, I don't have central locking, no glovebox (just a hole giggidy), no rev counter (this is annoying), and I can't remember what else it doesn't have. OBVIOUSLY this is for racing for the weight savings yo.
Most of you know that I've sold my 5 for some cheap motoring until I move to Aus in January and I'm not gonna get a curse word Nissan Micra or a Corsa because curse word that. I need the hilarioso motoring pls.
In regards to boring maintenance stuff, I believe the car is due a cambelt change but apparently it's easy on these, and I got given a spare belt so that's ite. I *might* buy a new kit with tensioners etc, and do the alternator belt while I'm at it.
The tracking needs doing, and probably track rod ends as the steering wheel is pointing to the right a bit, and on centre the steering is pretty dead.
Brakes need attention. My old Move had very sharp brakes, felt very over-servo'd but if anything, that's a good thing. This one, not so much. It's pretty dead and then they start biting. Might need calipers re-greasing and whatnot. Won't do any harm to give them a once-over and fit new discs and pads either. Supposedly the rear drums have been done but I think they need to be looked at tbh, weird clicky noise from the rear left when at the lights and you use the brake. Handbrake cable needs tightening, it's rather floppy until it bites quite high up.
As much as this is a cheap eco car that's for saving, I do have sooooooooome plans for it. This Sunday I'm gonna take a trip to Horsham to see a friend who's got two of these and slam the curse word. He's got a lowering kit on his spare Move that he's not really using so we're gonna swap over (1 hour job apparently ._.) and I might buy a set of wide wheels off him.
So far this is on the cards:
Lower (I've done this already... I'll post a new update in a bit)
Tints (Measuring windows and will buy film to tint)
Maybe source a glovebox (Found one, and fitted)
Fit aftermarket tachometer, srsly I need one it's so weird.
Vinyl wrap silver / black on front and rear bumpers / two tone stripe on lower half of the car. Maybe a gold pinstripe to break up the two colours for that pimp swagonstation.
Mad super shiny JDM stickers (on order)
Nyan Cat vinyl down the side lol
Upgrade head unit and speakers, and maybe install speakers in the boot door / rear doors.
It's already on non-standard 13 x 4.5j alloys (yes, 4.5j) from a Daihatsu Mira Avanzato with pretty new-ish Continental tyres on it but curse word me it handles like curse word. IMO it's kinda dangerous. Entering roundabouts has to be done at granny speed, otherwise INCREDIBLE understeer is induced. I mean, seriously seriously bad understeer. Tyres profile is 135/80/13. But I think that's wrong as the standard steelies have 145/70/13 (i think). That might explain *some* of the understeer as the sidewalls are probably collapsing under cornering.
Here is an accurate diagram of my journey around a rounabout. Pls note is was a 2 lane roundabout, and v late at night, hence my RACING LINE.
I might maybe possible have a look to see if I can get some wider wheels to allow me to play around with a more common tyres size. Unfortunately Daihatsu are curse word retards and decided it would be great to make up their own bolt pattern of 4x110. curse word. So, 4 x 108 alloys and wobble bolts it is then. At least I can get some decent rubber on the car, and maybe some universal arches for toplel mega lols Kei Car DESU DESU DESU.
OMG THIS IS GONNA BE AMAIZNG AHAHAHAHHAHAA
Also came with free JDM import lady
Oh, and the numberplate says FAP.
Prs enjoi.
