I am relocating my battery in the boot to give room for the electric pas pump and air filter in the 205, now I want a live post, bolt, tag in the engine bay (like BMW's have) for ease of jumping and wiring up further gubbins. Short of getting a block of lovely insulating wood (which imo just says bodge) I can't think how to attatch the bolt, post, tag to the shell. Any clues, ideas, thoughts, electrical gubbins for just such an occasion I may have missed? Could I pinch one off a bmw you think? have a sexy C15, I have been thinking alot about french tin recently. I fear I may be going strange.

I think you may have answered your own question get at the bits from a scrap BMW one that has the battery in the boot obviously) or another car that gas the battery in the boot (e.g. MX-5 errr can't think of anything else off the top of my head). This is the sort of thing you want - Mount on an insulated box - Punch out grommet holes and fit glands for cable entry to make it look neat -

Midas, that's exactly what I was thinking just didn't know what to search for. I have the battery tray in the boot, I have the cable routed through the car into the bay, now I might be able to actually finish the auld shed.
That positive stud looks pretty snazzy but less receptive to ring terminals.
Further question, the electronic PAS pump draws 50A I can't find a relay capable of handling that sort of current. Would a starter solenoid off an old mini do the trick? I want it to be switchable so the electric pas pump doesn't draw current while I am cranking.

I would have thought the electric PAS would only be drawing anywhere near 50a when giving full assist at slow speeds. Without the wheel turning I bet it's drawing next to nothing? I have it wired up directly to the +ve post, I use a rally style killswitch to distribute +ve wires to auxiliary items (takes big ring terminals).

Using the one from a 106/Saxo is the usual one I've seen used on 205's and if that's the case, they have a nice mini-loom and high-current sealed relay as standard. If yours didn't have one, a trip to the scrapyard should get you one - it's located right next to the pump on the passenger side in front of the gearbox.

Gah!, I bought the pump of ebay (yes its a 106 one) and it just had a severed plug that I have soldered to some 100A cable to. I may hit the scrap yard today.

Why not wire in a pair of leads going to an Anderson connector, then make up a pair of cables going from an Anderson connector to a pair of jumper connectors? That's what I've done on the landy (as well as building a bank of ultracapacitors as a jump pack ?) and it works amazingly well. You can mount the Anderson wherever you want, so you don't have to open the bonnet to jump something. Pair of 175a Andersons, a few meters of 35mm welding cable, and a pair of big crocodile clamps, all off eBay, and you've got a really tidy solution.
