Hi all, sadly time to move on from this car.
I've put a lot of time and effort into it, got it MoT'd the other week only for someone to bash the side of it, and I've lost heart I'm afraid.
Great trackday or drift car with little effort, or with paintwork would be a great daily.
Build thread is here, and more pics are available if wanted.

Import Eunos Roadster 1.6 NA - 1991 with the long nose crank engine.
Fitted with a Begi turbo conversion and subject to many other modifications.
Passed its MoT in August.
The car was imported around 2007 and has been off the road since 2011 so has only seen 4 UK winters on the road. The previous owner told me it was undersealed on arrival (it certainly was undersealed after arriving in the UK) and since buying it I have rust killed and wax injected the sills and chassis sections, and undersealed the entire underside, wheel arches and inner wings. It’s therefore a very solid, rust-free shell.
The spec - there's a lot of it:
Exterior
Garage Vary front splitter
Retro style door mirrors
Rear bumper lower cut away to improve aero
TRS front tow strap
Cusco rear tow loop
H4 headlamp conversion
Clear front sidelight/indicators and front bumper reflectors
Sidelights swapped with front indicators to increase visibility with sidelights on
LED rear bootlid stoplight
Mohair roof, replaced a few years ago, with good clear rear screen
One key fits all locks
Paintwork
There are minor marks, scratches, imperfections and chips all around the car
Recent dent to rear drivers side quarter will require pulling and filling
I have painted the dented area to protect it til the next user decides what to do with the paintwork
Would benefit from a full respray unless it's used as a trackday / drift car, in which case it's ready to go
Engine
Turbo conversion by BEGI, one of the best conversions available
- cast exhaust manifold - no cracks - one of the very best turbo manifolds for the MX5
- front mount intercooler & hard pipes (pipes freshly blasted and painted in heat resistant paint last year)
- garratt T25 turbo with minimal axial play and zero in-out play
- separated-outlet exhaust downpipe into 2.5" stainless decat and stainless exhaust
- newstainless braided coolant and oil lines to turbo
- enginecoolant runs re-routed to suit turbo installation (hard cooling pipes blasted and painted last year)
- heavy duty aluminium turbo heat shield
- good quality stainless T-clamps used throughout the high pressure pipework
Fuelling by an adjustable rate fuel pressure regulator (AFPR)
Twin entry fuel rail which ensures consistent fuel supply to all 4 injectors and is future proofed for further power increases
Current power estimated 170bhp at 5psi due to the AFPR which is an ok solution but you could easily get 220bhp on Megasquirt and 305cc injectors (included, not fitted)
Coolant reroute to even out temperatures throughout the engine - essential mod for turbo cars in hard use
Auxiliary oil and water temp gauges to keep a close eye on engine temps
Engine bay
Engine bay completely stripped and painted 18 months ago
All core plugs renewed; block & head thoroughly cleaned; sump blasted and refitted with new gaskets; crank seals renewed
Cam cover cut to expose cam pulleys, and front of block decluttered (thermostat housing relocated to rear of block)
Partial wiring tuck into inner wings; ISCV and TPS wiring hidden; igniter module and diagnostic port relocated into cabin
Charcoal canister removed
Blue reinforced silicone hoses throughout; new stainless clips used throughout
Koyoradaluminium radiator
Aluminium slam panel cover
Crankcase breather tank
Twin radiator fans on manual switch (allows cooldown with ignition off e.g. at trackdays)
Alloy washer bottle in scuttle
Braided clutch flexi hose
Driveline
TorSen LSD, works correctly
1.8 clutch, flywheel, propshaft and driveshafts
Gear lever bushes and rubber gaiters all new
Custom weighted gearknob in black acetal
Chassis
HSD top adjustable coilovers - as new
Jackson Racing adjustable anti roll bars front and rear - as new
1.8 front brake discs and calipers, standard 1.6 rears
Revolution 15x7J RFX alloys
Custom Revolution centre caps to my design
Engine bay upper brace
Front lower chassis brace
Manual steering rack with new poly bushed mounts
Interior
Dashboard uppers and door tops trimmed in perforated alcantara
Cluster shroud, column covers, centre stack and console flocked
JetStreamBarchetta short centre console
New custom door cards with webbing pulls to improve knee room
Uncut single piece carpet in decent condition
JDM black chequered mats in decent condition
New Phillips MP3 stereo and Alpine door speakers
Jass instrument cluster fascia with individual LEDs, Revlimiter custom dial faces, chunky alloy dial rings, alloy tacho reset
Car has covered 208k km and now has a mph speedo reading 137k miles - original kph speedo included if you want it
Boost gauge
Aux water temp and oil temp gauges
Air/Fuel Ratio gauge fitted ready for connection to LC-1 AFR Controller (included, not fitted)
Blue illumination throughout
Deep dish steering wheel with blue centre stripe and blue stitching
Gearshift & handbrake gaiters with blue stitching
Remote electric boot release button
Carpet surround for fuel flap release lever
Other
Recent battery
Recent clutch master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder
Engine & gearbox oils renewed in last 100 miles
Dot 4.1 brake fluid comprehensively flushed through 6 months ago
Fresh coolant 6 months ago
Included / not fitted
Megasquirt plug and play (MSPNP) ECU, wideband controller & gauge, 305cc injectors, IAT sensor, MAP sensor
This will achieve about 220bhp once fitted and rolling road tuned
The new owner can choose to do this themselves (there's loads of support on mx5nutz for megasquirt) or reputable mx5
specialists like Blink Motorsport and Skuzzle Motorsport can help for not much money and a great end result.
I'll throw in
- a soft top tonneau in great nick
- an engine undertray that just needs bolting on
- coil pack (useful for trackday spare)
Extras - not included at this price
Axxis performance pads for front and rear £100 - brilliant trackday pads
T-House style bar £100
Oil cooler, sandwich plate and 2 braided hoses with AN-20 fittings (one additional hose required to plumb in) £40
NRG short steering hub (you may prefer this with the deep dish steering wheel) £30
The car drives well on throttle but holds its revs high when off throttle - the AFPR needs adjusting to be spot on but
if time is being taken to improve how the car drives, I'd convert it to Megasquirt for similar effort but much more power!
It drives ok but boost tends to come in quite quick, it pulls hard on full throttle (I did a few thousand miles with it this way before taking it off the road in 2011) and can be used as-is if you wanted - but putting megasquirt on it would make it awesome, and more driveable too.
The car would break as it sits for a good 5 grand, so a real bargain can be had here.
I'm not interested in breaking it, or swaps for anything else, as its replacement has been bought already.
Thanks for looking, any questions fire away.
