Selling my 'spare' W124 estate due to the stellar reliability of my 'good' estate and saloon.
It's too new (by a year) for my classic policy so I can't daily it, the light coloured interior makes it a bad choice for junk moving duties anyway.
It's a '96 car, it has 181k on it, the MOT expires 6th September 2016.
It's an E320, the engine is the M104 straight six and it's a four speed auto, a 722.3.
It's a factory leather car and has air con. Four electric windows, two electric mirrors, headlight wipers.
I'm the umpteenth owner and it came with little in the way of recent service history.
The original service book is complete until 112k and there are a few receipts after that.
The car is in Fife, near Dunfermline, at the workshop in Fife I use for storage and breaking.
Call me (o776 nine 673 five 77) if you want to come for a look and a shot, PM me or leave a comment here if you have questions.
The Bad Bits
I don't have the V5 for it, only the blank new keeper part. I never got a new V5 after I bought it last summer and didn't chase it up because I thought it was a spares or breaking car.
The ABS light came on the other night while I was shuffling cars around at the workshop. I'd only moved the car a few feet then had it sitting running for about twenty minutes so I don't know if the ECU got it's knickers in a twist. I turned it off and back on and it stayed off so fingers crossed.
It doesn't have a star on the bonnet, this is a later facelifted car and my others are pre-facelift so I don't have a spare that fits properly.
I only have one key for it and, this is annoying, there's no keyhole on the driver's side. The factory fit IR remote locking is disabled, there is a Clifford system in the car and that has also been disabled. Again, I didn't do anything about this due to it originally being a spare.
I've had this sitting for about a year, not needed it, so I MOT'd it thinking I would sell it with the fail sheet and here it is with nearly 12 months test.
The front bumpers look to have had some treatment to make them body coloured, or maybe to have scuffs repaired.
No rust on the front wings.
It had the rear SLS pipework almost completely replaced before I submitted it for MOT (it was just awful) and needed a replacement petrol tank and backbox donated from another W124 TE that I broke earlier this year.
The interior is really nice, full factory leather in good condition.
Even the driver's seat is in good shape.
Visible rust at the base of the rear passenger door, other door bottoms are fine.
The rear windows are water tight and not rotted out.
The rear drains are in good shape too.
Roof bars and a tow bar fitted.
It's not perfect, cracked rear bumper and rust around the IR sensor.
