Another find from my mate who runs a garage and has lots of old customers with cars tucked away.
Volvo 240DL, manual, runs and drives (I did 10 miles in it the other day - on trade plates of course!)
Scruffy but solid, the rust in the scuttle, arches and small bits here and there are all that's there really. Have had it up on a ramp and the floors are solid.
Has been sat for a number of years but apart from a lot of the components underneath having quite a lot of surface rust and dirt on them, all seems to work, though I'd always advise a brake overhaul for anything that's been laid up long-term.
Exhaust blowing slightly, fan belt squealing and it has a tiny battery fitted for some reason. Other things I can see it will obviously need for a test... headlamps rusted on the reflectors, damaged rear lamp and numberplate, wipers perhaps. Nothing too major.
One bad thing is that the passenger door doesn't latch. It closes OK but won't hold in place. Probably needs a whole new latch.
Inside the trim is very good, and with a good clean would come up excellently... it does stink of damp (and perhaps something nastier!)
Here are some pictures, which I'd say make it look a bit better than it is, I'd say, but not by much. It's a nice project and well worth the asking price and with a few weekends work would easily be worth £1000+
Have a logbook in the previous owner's name.
I'm up where it's being stored tomorrow so will try getting some more pics.
