Hello, so the time has come to sell my camry. this has been perfect, never had any issus with it at all.
Just recently had brake pads all around and rear anti roll bar bushings (all toyota parts not cheap)
drives really nice and has service stamps in the book up until ~135k the milage is currently at ~160k i was told when i bought it that it has been serviced at independant garages after 130k
Ill update this thread with exact dates, but from memory the MOT is up in ~december 2015.
Ill start with the bad bits because they're very minor also this is being harsh on the car.
- so there is a little patch of lacquer peel/bad paint on the top of the n/s front wing, its confined to the 1 panel and would be an easy repair, I planned to respray it myself but never got around to it, like I said its just the 1 panel wouldn't be much of a problem to do.
- on full lock there is SOMETIMES a bit of clicking, i assume this is just the CV joint, but how minor it is i never really bothered to look into it, since it's only sometimes on full lock, so its not much of an issue
now the good bits, which there are plenty
- surprisingly cheap to insure, being a young driver insurance is always an issue, but this thing costs £450 for a year for myself!
- 1 owner from new since 1997 (ive been driving it for a month or 2 now, loving every minute but i like to change my cars fairly often - every few months or so.)
- apart from that bit of nasty laquer on the wing, the body is in good shape, there is the odd mark around but it shines up lovely and looks great
- this is the big 3.0 V6, it's not the fastest car i've had but it sure pulls well, and is pretty quick, i think the figures are around 200~ bhp or something, and the V6 noise is pretty damn nice too.
- automatic, I know most people (especially here) would prefer a manual, which i probably would too, but i'm actually loving this as an auto, it just feels so smooth and luxurious changes perfectly and actually its relaxing too, it makes you want to drive calmly, still put your foot down and it will downshift and fly, it has a manual over drive as well.
- nice aftermarket JVC head unit, this is the only aftermarket part of the car, personally I need AUX input while driving so i can listen to music on my phone. It's a nice quality radio but nothing special, nice sound though.
- everything working on the car
- also surprisingly economical, i've had LOTS of old volvos (even the non turbos) and was definitley a nice surprise to be getting this sort of mileage, i've not worked it out, but it definitley feels a lot better than the 2.3 redblock I had before this, and that was a 4cl n/a.
- lots of nice extras, electric sunroof, cruise control, climate controlled heating/ a/c (not very cold if I'm honest) outside temp guage, full leather interior, all electric windows, nice quality 6 speaker system.
- private plate worth (according to regtransfers) £995. that is what they have it listed for anyway, but i have to say, if sold via them you'd receive £600, so they take a massive cut. alternatively you could sell privately or keep it of course. The plate reads "A13 JML"
- rare camry headlight protectors.
- has 3 original keys + 3 fobs
can't really think of much else, like i said, drives great, everything is working, all tyres got plenty of tread on, 5 alloys (full size spare). if you're looking for a big full size luxurious saloon, this is 100% perfect, and you might just be surprised how economical it is! also you really don't see many at all around the UK, but also looks quite plain and generic which i like.
I'm looking for £995 ONO. I would consider p/x preffer something a bit interesting, also maybe an XLWB van, jumbo transit, sprinter or something might be considered as I'm after a big van.
if you want any specific picture or info just get in touch, you can call /text me on 07982 147 327 or message me on here
